I spent the last ten years of my career working on the water in one of southern California’s busiest harbors. Every few years, various environmental factors caused an absolute explosion of moon jellies in the harbor waters, to the point that you couldn’t pilot a boat through the thick swarms of them without leaving a

Since this is AV Club, I should point out the Monterey Bay Aquarium is where Kirk and Spock went in Star Trek IV.

My favorite thing about this game’s whole story (which seems to have been forgotten over time) is that the new characters and story were created by Lauren Faust, the same person who created Friendship is Magic! Even though Hasbro C&D’ed the original fan game, Faust was no longer working for Hasbro by that time and

I have a girl crush on Melissa Fumero. Same with Stephanie Beatriz (she's hot).

Thank you. The ending really crushed me. I faced fertility issues when my husband and I were trying before he died unexpectedly. I felt like such a failure because I wasn’t able to conceive. I’ve considered adoption, but have seen friends, most well-off, struggle with adoption. In my financial situation, I wouldn’t be

I’m not a doctor, but I wouldn't even be concerned after six months. Maybe a year.

Exactly! KoQ actually ruled. It fell in to the same category as Everybody Loves Raymond. Early to late 2000's better than average multi-camera sitcoms. Both shows could have been far worse. The supporting cast of both shows saved the day. KoQ especially benefited from the use of Jerry Stiller as an almost co-lead.

Unfortunately, adoption is also sometimes incredibly expensive and can be prohibitively so for some families. Close friends of mine had IVF insurance coverage but nothing near support for what adoption would required in their state, which is why they went with IVF. I think that reality is why when we do see adoption

I don’t really care if humanity lasts forever. I obviously would prefer we don’t go extinct over the next few hundred or thousand years, but I don’t really understand the idea that we must become immortal at any cost. Everything ends, friendo. Being a bit sore about this is natural. But getting too wrapped up in

Ha, since if anything happened to Arlo, Rosa would kill all of them, and then herself

Melissa Fumero announced that she’s (pretty) pregnant in real life in November. Not that it’s the best reason not to mention adoption more seriously, but I suspect some of the baby plot is being dictated by both Fumero’s pregnancy and potential maternity leave. I also think that means we’ll have another jump before

Whether or not they made Rosa too dim in this episode, I was glad they remembered she’s an animal lover. Seeing as she and the rest of the squad are still alive, Arlo must be doing well.

For some reason, my favorite moment in this episode was wordless: when Hitchcock at the end says his problem is that he is a workaholic, and Holt looks totally bewildered, and Rosa, sitting next to him, makes a gesture to reassure him that he shouldn’t worry about it. That just killed me for some reason. Maybe it was

Norm Breyfogle is smiling up in comic artist heaven right now.

I like it a lot. It looks a lot more like the 70s/80s era Batmobile(not including Dark Knight Returns). Where they were not over designed or just flat out tanks.  It looks like a modified car, which is where I want it to be

Two quick things - There is no need to choose between iPhone and iPad as the app is universal, so it’s essentially cross-buy.

One time, I went for an early-morning hike in Saguaro National Park and was stung by bee. Later that day, I ate a Sonoran Dog. Thanks for listening to my story.

“What if Harry Potter was clinically depressed?”

Penny Prime was a bit of a pill in the show, and the guy playing him was a little one-note like he was in Nurse Jackie, then he got to play Penny 23 (is that a Blonde Redhead reference? Somebody tell me!) and has got to do a ton more.
