I feel like Dennis Miller had a few good years in the early 1990s before his SNL bits curdled.

It was shocking/baffling/amazing how good Matthew Lillard was in that. The show fell apart in its second season (I’m not sure they really had a plan for where it was going and seemed to repurpose characters in a way that really didn’t make sense), but he turned in an amazing performance.

Some of the later Liz Phair albums have some gems on them, too. “Little Digger” is as painful as anything on Exile in Guyville, for instance.

Yeah, I just got introduced to the Girlysound version with the new release of them and this is one of the songs that definitely benefited from the studio production process.

To be fair, the five remaining people at the State Department didn’t want to engage on this topic with the White House at all on this topic. Or come out from under their desks, for that matter.

You’re conflating multiple separate issues.

If the other two candidates get the majority of the vote in the jungle primary, then there’s a run-off against the leader.

Orange County went for Hillary. Demographics are changing.

De Leon’s showing was terrible last night, especially given the months of hype for this match-up. She’s not going anywhere, I don’t think.

The NYT is generally very stupid about California. (They write the same few articles every year or two about being shocked that Los Angeles has culture, good food, an arts scene, etc.) No one out here was particularly worried about the Democrats self-sabotaging too much.

Nothing would make me happier to live in a timeline where the DC movies are great. Those were the comics I grew up loving, and I root for the movies but ... yeah.

Even the Rock’s dopiest movies make a ton of money. The guy is a bonafide movie star, even if he seems to pick scripts by throwing darts. He was great in Jumanji, with genuine acting both by him and Jack Black (really!), though, so I wouldn’t bet against him on Black Adam.

That said, the talk is that Black Adam isn’t

The Patton Oswalt episode was really good, and was really the only time the show actually engaged with its premise in the way I think everyone expected the show to do in every episode.

Instead, it took something that is icky and gross on its surface and tried to make it ... fun? Dollhouse was a disaster. I don’t know

I’d actually want to watch that, though.

And of those films, how many actually have an audience eager for them? Wonder Woman 2, sure, and maybe Black Adam.

I don’t normally care about off-screen drama, but Julianna Margulies chasing away from Archie Panjabi at “The Good Wife” feels like an appropriate exception to the rule.

Panjabi is amazing and that character was a tour de force. I’ll pass on Margulies playing another wealthy white woman doing wealthy white woman stuff,

Who said there’s neglect? Someone lit those fires. There’s evidence that the singularity, or someone or something, is at work in the world.

You can be an excellent writer and still wrong.
