I used to use pharmaceuticals. For over a decade I was medicating against migraines, stomach issues and sleep issues. I had almost no sex life with my wife because there was virtually no sex drive.

When an affectionate term like dear is used by a stranger/person in a position of power it always comes off as super condescending to me.

Hotels pay property taxes and tourists spur the local economy and pay sales taxes. Tourists are economic boom to a city even without hotel and Rental Car taxes. They certainly do not drain an economy.

I agree that these ads are tone deaf and stupid. That being said, I also believe Hotel and Rental Car taxes are downright evil. They are quite steep and exploitive but most glaringly bad is that they are meant to tax only non-constituants. In other words it is an easy way for a city to haul in a lot of tax money…
