Yes! I went on a rant about that yesterday, and everyone thought I was nuts. How messed up is it that he's taken it upon himself (themselves?) to inform this girl that she's beautiful, even though telling her will negate that fact in his eyes? Who is he to define her beauty? Messed. Up.

I didn't know that. I'm still on a media blackout, jez not included. This is exciting, thanks!

Honestly? I'm turning out of state. To Chicago, at the very least. I've lived in Wisconsin for most of my life. After spending much of my 20s in MN, I returned here to go back to school and enjoy the truly excellent things that WI (and Milwaukee) has to offer. But eff this. This is not the state I grew up in.

I know!!!

True, though many important elections since 2010 have been very close, from recall ones to the supreme court, which was supposed to be an easy Republican victory. This makes me think that while he'll claim that 'the people have spoken' and whatever, he'll move slightly toward the center, policy-wise. See: $100

I think a lot of people here voted for Walker because they got sick of all the ads and negativity. The state has been in this horrible place ever since Walker took office. You can't even talk to anyone about politics without fights breaking out. And thanks to Citizens United, we've all been bombarded with negative

I work in an elementary school, and know of two different students who currently have them, including one that I tutor. That means close contact, 3x a week for 30 minutes a day. It also means that they are in the school, and that many more kids probably have them than I realize. Add that to the amount of hugs I

Ha! My students are still all about that new Bieber song. I may have to ask about 'Starships' at work tomorrow. Bieber's starting to hurt my head.

Oh dear. I have that girl's shirt! I must go listen to top 40 now!

Fruit, cinnamon, pastry? Apple pie is totally a breakfast food!

I'm eating brownies for breakfast. My eight-year-old self would be so proud.

I just finished my last final. I am now a college graduate. Holy shit.

Pretty much, yes. I, for one, am happiest in the city. Right now my windows are open, car horns are honking, sirens are blaring, and people are yelling at each other down on the street. And I love it. I love that I can walk or bike pretty much anywhere, there are events going on every night, and there's so much

I'm kind of bumming, you guys! I graduate from college tomorrow, which, yay, but my sister and brother-in-law can't find a babysitter and don't want to bring their 8 month old, so none of them are going, my brother is on a trip, and my grandmother "doesn't feel the need" because I "should have done this ten years

Ha! You'll fit in well here.

I bought this book at MoMA a couple of years ago, and it's great:

I lived with my grandmother for a good portion of my childhood. Ever since my grandpa died, it's like her filter has just disappeared. Some of my favorites:
