As a self-admitted feminist prude, I heartily concur.

I’m half-Japanese and have always been afraid of watching this movie because of how close it hits to home for me (aside from just sounding incredibly depressing in general).
All this is just another half-assed excuse to put off casting Asian actors and actresses in leading roles.
Has anyone else noticed that only Peppy has eyes that aren’t blue?
It’s not that they won’t learn the L sound, it’s that it’s too difficult for most Japanese speakers to pronounce correctly.
Scrappy actually made me dislike Shaggy and Scooby. Yeah, Scrappy could be annoying but when most if not all the monsters and scares that the gang face are just guys in masks, Scrappy’s reaction looks a lot more reasonable compared to Shaggy and Scooby’s constant terror.
I remember when I was 12, joining a forum on Avatar: The Last Airbender back in the show’s heyday and making the mistake of criticizing Katara/Zutara.
What are you even talking about specifically?
How can they earn a spot as stars when the most they’re cast as are background extras, nerdy losers, and exotic ladies?
I don’t think there’s a large population of Asian/Asian-Mexican actors in Mexico though.
The really galling thing about all this is how Hollywood is still just so gosh-darned surprise people are still upset when whitewashing happens. This controversy has been happening bare minimum since 2008 with the movie “21" and perhaps drew the most attention with TLA in 2010.
So I suppose in your reality, Asian-Americans don’t exist.
My dog passed away last month.
This is not a competition.
