Of course they sit on a small stock of cards. A percentage of these cards are going to have defects and if they don’t have cards on hand for RMA requests it would reflect poorly upon them.

There’s gotta be cheaper (and easier) ways to launder money than a 20% vig.
If we’re going to split hairs, there a difference between “emptying” and “completely emptying”. Driving your car empties your fuel tank, even if you only use up a quarter gallon before stopping.
Ah yes, the classic “buy something expensive that will attract a lot of international media attention” method of money laundering.
I did that once. They said the check could not be cashed because it was written the same day I attempted to cash it. Bank of America. I went back the next day to cash it and they forced me to wait an hour to confirm it twice, despite looking into the account and seeing sufficient balance available. (It was a massive…
You could also take it to the bank that issued the check and get cash.
My sisters bank uses some odd ball system for paying by app. Instead of instant transfer, it has a 3 business day hold on the money after you accept the transfer. Which makes no sense since it’s an electronic transfer; and they place a hold on the money the instant my sister starts the transaction.
I’m a little teed off every time I think about how abusive banks are.
I’m a little annoyed that I just opened a Money Market account with “New” bank and despite giving them access to my “Old” bank savings account directly (so what I believe is effectively a wire transfer, or something similar) I’m waiting a week for the money to show up in the New account.
What it really means, because they use computers, is that instead of 100% of it being avaiable as soon as its verified electronically, it isn’t.
Creepy as fk. Amiright?
A little while ago I started getting emails trying to extort bitcoins from me. The only information they had right was a username and password. After some investigation I found it was from an avast account I hadn’t used in quite some time. Fortunately I don’t reuse passwords or usernames. It was obvious they were…
Not true. There is the concept of the “loss-leader marketing” which gives products for free without having to be the product yourself.
Raise your hand if you forgot that Stadia was A Thing until this article reminded you.
I lost a close relative thanks to this shit; they are dead - forever. You’re either a bot or a moron. The one thing for sure is that you’re an asshole.
Beer and wine makers are also aware of the links between alcohol and death - hasn’t stopped them or the buyers.
Thank you for the jokes. Now can somebody please tell me how I get copart to finally auction off the salvage vehicle I want to fix up and bring home and drive and drive until it sputters and never goes a single inch further? I have been high bidder for a while now and am willing to go up, significantly. I contacted…
My wife and I fly First/Business class more often than not. Regardless of what the airline’s actual policy is, I can’t recall ever seeing someone be asked not to use the front lavatory before (with the exception of when they’re opening the cockpit doors in flight) and obviously no airline is allowed to let a line form…
No. Do your homework. The CIO was allowed to resign. And she had a Master in Fine Arts degree. Thus, I guarantee you she was not asking for anything and definitely deserves at least 50% of the blame.
