It is pretty crazy indeed. There are a lot of fires raging in Northern Quebec as well and I could smell them in the air in Montreal, maybe 500-600 km south of some forest fires.

Another good idea poorly executed. A better and more fair option would be to delete the gas tax and make both types pay a per-mile-driven tax based on weight and size. If you want to encourage ev adoption, keep the gas tax but call it a carbon tax and use those proceeds for healthcare.

I’m kind of inclined to believe that this has less to do with people having some kind of epiphany and more to do with people wanting a new vehicle immediately and just taking whatever’s sitting in inventory, which is generally sedans/hatchbacks. 

If we ever had something like this in the US, the MAGATs would claim that it’s too woke, the Karens would complain because they couldn’t drive their CR-Vs through it and within six months the tunnel would be filled end-to-end with homeless people and guys selling knock-off Rolexes.

A lot of work went into this piece, and a lot of passion. I applaud both the effort and the goal. I will also concede that there is a lot of great points in there.

No just save your money and get anything else. I rag on Tesla a lot on here for crap interiors, but the Solterra and bZ4x are literal death traps if you live up north and you may actually freeze to death if you get caught out in a winter storm. Straight from Toyota’s website:
