Tbh, I think the rust suffered by this generation of CRV (yes, I gave up trying to fix it,) is probably worse for structural strength than speed.

Buying as an unused investment will not end well for EV’s. Battery degradation is worse when the batteries are never used, and kept full or empty.
Hey, if I can get stuck trying to exit a parking spot (that’s what we call a snow bank in Montreal,) with winter snow tires and AWD, then I don’t doubt the Cybertruck can get stuck on a snowy hill with its’ heffalump weight, and tires not rated for snow.
Humanity’s capacity for scummy behaviour never ceases to surprise me. Seems everyone wants money for sitting on their lazy asses and doing nothing of value for anyone other than themselves.
Wow, people down here in the comments are super fanatical over truck configurations.
Yes, sadly you are right. It is a cold climate curse - Either you buy Japanese for mechanical reliability, and suffer from rust bubbles, or you buy European for rust resistance, but suffer from poor cold weather reliability.
It’s gotten me unstuck from ice and snow banks many times, but then we deal with deep snow and ice here for 3-5 months of every year. Just because it doesn’t serve any purpose for you, doesn’t mean it’s not useful for people that live in other parts of the world.
I hope Mazda sticks to their “reasonably priced, lightweight, middling power” philosophy when they release the next gen MX5. They are one of the last bastions of hope for selling fun vehicles at an affordable price.
Isn’t it weird that Toyota seems to be one of the only manufacturer that understands what the majority of people want out of a vehicle? Reasonably priced, great gas mileage, reliable, comfortable, and safe.
Collin, what the hell? Why would you even think of recommend a 100k mile mopar 372bhp rear wheel drive land-whale for an 18 year old? Are you insane? (Yes, I realize your suggestion was probably sarcastic.)
Customers get what customers want. It’s not really fair to fully blame manufacturers for their customers’ behaviour.
Well, you can probably expect this to happen when all of the mechanical aspects of your vehicle are controlled exclusively by freshly written software.
I do trust used Hondas.
Remember when Twitch was about streaming video games? Pepperidge Farm Remembers.
This could have been avoided with more guns.
This is a bit of a redundant article tbh. Not that I’m trying to be a Tesla Fanboi, but you said it yourself - Unsuitable tires and no lockers would end up getting anyone stuck in this slippery situation. Hell, just last year I saw a VW Passat with snow tires completely stuck on a tiny bit of ice/snow, all because one…
I would drive the crap out of that.
NHTSA needs to get their sh*t together and improve their pedestrian safety regulations. There is a reason that vehicles coming out of Europe/Japan need to pass strict pedestrian impact tests - and it’s the reason why vehicle platforms shared between USA/Europe have sloped grills/hoods with no sharp edges, and low…
4 out of 5 top articles today are hit pieces on Musk/Tesla. Did Elon Musk shat in Jalopnik’s cereal this morning?
While I’m not saying that Li-ion BEV’s are the only way forward, do you really want the USA’s manufacturing industry to get decimated by cheap foreign imports that it can’t compete with? It might benefit the population in the short term, financially, but as Germany and the EU found out, allowing a foreign power to…
