my take is that the wobbly infrastructure of the constitution has to break badly before people will consider fixing it properly.   but then again i favor secession of my state :/

FYI, It’s never been weighted ‘against the GOP’ in my lifetime, they have dominated court nominations since Nixon.   Sometimes Dem-controlled Senates can force them to appoint moderate GOPers, like when Bork was dinged in favor of Kennedy
