the company actually went on a hiring/spending spree this year to ramp up for all the new projects, including WD4. Because of this nobody was aware of seriousness of the financial situation. In retrospect it’s clear the company had been propped up by investor $$ for years, and they pulled the rug out when WD4 didnt…

Zynga is a much worse company, everything they make there is a cynical business venture of copycat products designed purely to extract cash from players. any creativity is purely accidental.

it wasnt the same guy, the Telltale CEO was just one of many execs at Zynga. I dont actually blame him that much, ultimately the TT games werent selling well and the revenue was not there to support the company much longer no matter what he did.

some of us (me) were part of both layoffs, yay!

Telltale also had a ton of investor financing that kept them afloat when revenue was low.  Unfortunately WD4 was not enough of a success to convince investors to keep the company propped up any longer.

just for the record, the 2012 bulls had the best record in the nba. then rose got injured in playoffs and it all went to crud.
