Favourite lyric so far:

So true. It also tells the tale of the gentrification of these particular suburbs, where older, usually immigrant, families who used to reside in these areas are being replaced by young (dare I say) hipsters, in search of the trendy lifestyle of the inner northern suburbs for a cheaper price (they're willing to 'go

I think part of the reason she retains her accent is that she's a bit of a speak-singer. It's nice to hear. Generally Aussie accents don't come through that strongly in singing unless the singer makes a conscious choice to really broaden it.

Haha Girls in Japan spin off! I feel that this would be quite the clash of cultures.

I was dying for a cut to Shosh in Japan.

That sucks that it happens at all, but so frequently? Terrible.

Yeah it must be the acknowledgement thing. Which is kind of sad. Like, there are no other areas of their life where they can interact with girls normally so this is the only chance? And it's a, what, maybe 10% chance of a good reaction? And they see a bad reaction as a win? Sad and gross.

I've always wondered, do guys EVER get a good reaction by doing this?? Because I can't understand anyone ever being able to react sincerely to this comment. Even if you weren't offended, wouldn't you just be weirded out and give an unnatural, forced smile. Ugh. The whole thing's ridiculous on all fronts.

Oh wow, I'd never even thought about that (which probably proves the point!). Also, the Russo test.

So true. Things were more delayed and uneven back then in terms of dissemination… and I live in Australia, so, yeah.

Their vague explanation for why they don't reply to Facebook invitations cracked me up!

I nearly had a heart attack when he jumped out from next to that tree (that sounds weird) near the end!

Hmmm I'm starting to think I need to re-watch this episode and pay complete attention to the background.

I totally thought Abbi or Ilana were going to throw in a pointed "Must. Be. Nice." at some point in that scene!

Napster, I hardly knew ye. I think it was pretty much shut down by the time I had the internet capability to use it! We were all about Kazaa… and maybe limewire a bit later?

It's weird how deeply the lyrics to 'Another Night' are sunk into my psyche.

Haha, well yes, baby steps? Maybe I'm just desperate to see growth…

Yeah, she is actually following Principal Toby's advice by keeping her feelings inside at the party (well, apart from to Ray, which was low-key and appropriate). I can easily imagine that previously she might have hijacked the event like Marnie did and made it all about her.

Also,
Miss Hoover: "Ralph, remember the time you said Snagglepuss was outside?"
Ralph:"He was going to the bathroom."

Oh yeah I remember that bit with the English teacher now too. I bet lots of English teachers were keen to highlight that bit of teacherly wisdom. Actually I also just thought of a part where Brian remembers something about what kind of berries (maybe?) are safe to eat, based on a documentary he'd seen years before. I
