Yeah, stupid Hillary with her research and planning and policy and basically knowing all of her shit. It’s almost like there’s a ephemeral reason why she needs to always come off prepared and not wing it like the rest of the people in the election.

Emily has decided that this ottoman pushed against the door is the best place to be in the world. She likes the curtains because she can play “hide-and-watch-everything-nutter-does. In the morning, it has become my duty to open the curtain so she can see outside and watch the street.

Hey Jezzies! How was your Saturday? Do anything interesting or fun, or did you have an equally good day just sitting around the house and letting the week’s crazy wash off?

Ah, depression. Let’s just say it wasn’t a good Friday, or a good Sunday-Thursday, or a good Saturday today. Tomorrow’s plan for a lonely Easter spent with leftover pizza also doesn’t bode well.

If you’re a huge asshole, then so am I. I was reading all the way through, thinking “Just get a second job at Taco Bell and pay your arrears.”

Well, it’s helpful to organize it first. It might be useful to find a way to cut as many current costs as you can and take on odd jobs to earn more to save more. :) Once you have it — maybe in about a year or so — you’ll be golden.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time working abroad. My best advice is to look into international schools. There’s a placement agency called Search Associates that has job fairs that exclusively places people in international schools. They do positions called “interns,” which basically means you have no teaching

I live in Europe as a teacher at a boarding school, and I have learned that boarding schools are often in need of people to run dorms, run activities, teach English (like someone else posted too). There’s a huge international school market even for people who aren’t qualified teachers that is definitely worth looking

If you have ANY college degree, teaching English in Japan or Korea is a very real possibility for you. I would recommend either the EPIK or JET programme. They’re both government-sponsored, reputable, with good rates of pay, and will fly you there and set up your living situation. Do some research, and get your ducks

If China is a possibility, it will be a cinch to get a job there teaching English.

If you are under the age of 31, you can get work-holiday visas to many countries. Once there, unskilled labor abounds. You can work at hostels, restaurants, and the like, and whatever skills you have, you can do those, too (i.e., house painting, etc). Migrant/seasonal farm work is big here, too — so you can always do

Well, my friends, I have some news.

WWOOFing (volunteering on an organic farm thru wwoof.org) is also kind of a cool way to spend a few months! It’s not wage earning, but does cover room and board so expenses are fairly minimal beyond ticket/weekend adventures. I spent a month in Iceland that way and it was pretty awesome—working with horses and sheep

I highly recommend it! I’ve done it thrice. Once I was a study abroad student, the other two times I just went for it and didn’t work for a few months. It’s a lot easier if you’re not earning income; once you want a work visa it gets a lot tougher.

Hey all. This is my first SNS in awhile. I’m nearly 5 months cancer-free (post-surgery that got it all) and I now have a nostly full time job where I feel valued. It’s a great feeling, especially after so many sucky jobs. I’m starting to carve out a little niche where in this little company and i’m feeling really

I’ve known a few people who lived in New Zealand for a year or two and worked on farms - NZ and some other countries have immigration laws set up so that you can obtain a visa fairly easily to work in an underserved area (such as agriculture) where there is high demand.

Absolutely! I lived abroad for about a year after college as a Fulbright student. There are a lot of those programs, especially if you are applying to be an English Teaching Assistant. You could also try being an au pair if you like kids, or possibly even working at a hostel someplace.

I peed on a stick this week and it came out positive. I’m so excited. My husband and I have been trying for a few months but thanks to the stress of my mom wandering and getting lost for 5 hours at a time, it hasn’t worked. Until now.

My cat brings me presents all the time! He gifts me his toys. Though he stands there mewing until I literally say thank you so he’s really in it for the praise high.

no advice on the marriage front, but I am in awe of your awesome mom skills. one day your kids are going to realize that you literally BRUSHED TURDS for them and they are going to be like “wow my mom really loves me.” sometimes I realize the crazy shit my parents have done for me and it makes me feel warm and happy
