Unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing the aurora, I live a bit too far south in Sweden for that. The light pillars (which is a different phenomena) that I saw were quite similar to the ones shown in the picture up top. But of course the scale in real life makes it more awesomer.

I’m a bit surprised over how understanding sounding a lot of the comments are. “Well, it’s war”, “What do you expect to happen when you train people to kill” etc. However, when the atrocities commited by ISIS and the like are ever reported on, people lose their shit.

No, smartphones don’t make watches redundant. Fishing your phone out of your pocket and turning the screen on just to check the time is annoying as hell. Especially if you’re sitting down. Checking the time on your watch is a matter of slightly tilting your wrist towards you.
