Besides what cj01 mentioned, there’s nothing as far as I know. And that doesn’t really count as the Rift is just being used as a virtual screen at that point.

So by that logic the Rift and Vive will fail? Because they are, as far as I know, PC only, no consoles.

Impede, sure, but not necessarily stop. If someone has a camera and takes a photo with the flash in a room you’re not in, you usually still see it, right? Light has a tendency to bounce around quite a bit.

I don’t know what frequencies they’re running these lights at but I’m fairly sure you wont be affected by them. If I were to guess I’d say that they’re flashing at least at a few hundred Hz which you shouldn’t be able to detect at all, not even with your peripheral vision (which is more sensitive to flickering).

Being a hobbyist that played around with the same thing years and years ago (by following what someone else had done before that) I felt the same way.

Do you regularly have issues when you are out driving and look at break lights on cars? Those are flashing as well, some worse than others.

It’s bad when everyone but Apple does it. When they do it, they’re being inspired and improving a concept.

You’re right, fuck the animals, they’re just meat. Why should we treat them with even the basics of comforts like being able to walk around more than 2 inches.
