Awe, I’m sorry he didn’t cure what ailed him (and had a bullshit teacher who knew nothing), but what a lovely thing that he reached out from the other side.

Oh what a beautiful place! (I looked it up). I’d love to go there. Although, I don’t want to experience ‘Rue’ LOL. YIKES.
I’m kind of creeped out because I also envisioned a cat being pissed off at either being locked in or out of the bedroom at night.
The giant Goodwill near the South End!
Which thrift store? Fellow Bostonian always hunting for a good place to thrift.
While I was reading and before I got to this last paragraph, I had also pictured you with a cat.
Oh this reminded me of a funny but sorta spooky story. My girlfriend B and I went to Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn to just wander around, not at all an odd thing, it’s pretty famous. We do that and it’s getting dark and a little chilly and we wind up at the edge of the gates and there’s a house, I assume a…
Yikes, I never thought about it that way... I feel like in ghost stories they tell you to acknowledge the spirit, but maybe that’s not a great idea if you don’t know what it is? Eeesh
This is, of course, because I am a lifelong cat-haver, but the entire time I was reading your story, I kept thinking, “how can you lock the door every night with the cat in there with you, what if he wants to get out?” Interesting how it ended with a ghost cat!

She babbles to him when I think she's talking to me but she's talking to him. I wish I had known him when he was alive. I know he adopted…
Oooooh, it’s lovely! Thank you so much for sharing. Having this visual gives a whole new depth to your story. Sweet dreams!
It's gorgeous.
I would as soon as an incident starts--just say hi, is there anything you need? Most non-malevolent spirits are just bored or playing pranks.
I try not to mess with it too much when it’s “active” but here it is!
Thank you!
Since we’re all mad here anyway, for minor... um... issues... with an object like that, you might try throwing a pinch of salt at it. Won’t damage the box and may dispel whatever it has going on.
A lot of ghosts are complete assholes.
Aww what a sweet story!
So sweet. Thank you for sharing this.
When I read the Noid submission, I knew I had to share this. I shared it as a response deep in the grays one year, but by that point the post had been up for weeks.
