It would be very funny is McCarthy could grab an Oscar nomination in a year she had a filthy sex puppet comedy and a broad slapstick mom-goes-back-to-college comedy movie out.

Agreed. Sausage Party was crude, but it didn’t make its crudeness the focus of the whole movie. The movie had themes, decent character arcs, and a point to it that it followed through on right until the end.
That’s what I was hoping this would turn out to be. I think I’m going to be disappointed.
Sausage Party had some unexpected substance to it. Themes of the importance of social skepticism and critical thinking, while remaining respectful to the people around you who’s deeply held beliefs are really important to them. It definitely wasn’t a one joke movie, which this is really looking like.
I was hoping it…
Hard same. And movie that doesn’t flinch on the realities or takes a hard left into “its all worth it” territory is a big win for me.
There is a twist and when you know it, you will understand that Davis is definitely not a Manic Pixie Dream Nanny. And not even in the ways your mind is probably going to right now either.
Not arrogant so much as a clinical narcissist. That’s part of what makes that character study so fascinating - she is literally unable to see that she is the root cause of all her problems, and she never will be able to either.
Amy Adams is incredible, but when we’re talking about talent on top of level of versatility, I don’t think anyone beats Theron. She slips into the most diverse range of roles with such ease its really amazing to watch.
That’s why its so fragile.
Sounds like you still don’t understand that masculinity doesn’t equal toxic masculinity.
What about Jezebel? This article is via The Mary Sue.
It depends what you mean by attractive. People in general will usually find you more interesting and possibly gravitate towards you with more confidence. Confident people give others a sense of being assured and that’s comforting and magnetic. In terms of romantic attraction, that’s also true sometimes too, but that’s…
Patty Jenkins is a honeybadger. She wouldn’t have let them. Not everyone is as tenacious as her.
It’s reportedly a Birds of Prey movie. Which would be great, except I’m confused as to how that makes it a Harley Quinn movie because she was never in the Birds of Prey.
The most famous Birds of Prey members are Barbara Gordon, Black Canary and Huntress, so it would make sense if they wanted introduce Batgirl in this…
Why is this being reported as a Harley Quinn movie if it’s actually a Birds Of Prey movie? Harley Quinn isn’t even a member of the Birds of Prey. Is she going to be shoehorned in as a villain or something?
lol that you think women don’t get objectified working in accounting.
That description at least isn’t drooling and leary. It’s actually pretty sweet and does invoke a good image of a beautiful scrappy girl like Buttercup.
They’re not that big either
I have this weird feeling they’re going to do what they did in the first one with Ares and just have Wigg for the parts where she’s human, and a CGI/performance capture effect for the rest. I can’t imagine any other way you could make a Cheetah woman intimidating enough for the main villain without it.
They also did this with Suicide Squad. Shy academic who gets possessed by an evil spirit and attacks her friends.
No, Jenkins and Theron are still really good friends. Maybe it was another case of scheduling issues like it was with the first one? Maybe Theron didn’t want to play yet another villain, although I don’t see that being likely since she was just joking about being a Bond villain recently.
