I’m probably wrong, but the “wings” are where screens are used, in other markets, instead of side view mirrors. So instead of a totally different U.S. spec dash, they just left it blank.

it’s always the fault of the jackass driver.”

But is it worth it if you have to sit in that bland and empty interior with a controls all on the touch screen and that shitty steering wheel controls...

All the cases? Really? You should make sure NHTSA knows that.

“Our prejudice will never get us to 8 percent [EV profit] margins,” he said. “We have to design the vehicle totally differently. We have to manufacture it, source it and sell it totally differently. That’s been a big transition.”

Also the American consumer. GM/Ford have been perpetually by decade guilty of one thing or another. But if you want to support American auto which is a big deal for some people, you have traditionally had to go to them.

Can you provide evidence for the statement that the investigations show “it’s always the fault of the jackass driver?”

The jackass driver who put the car in “autopilot”???

people still think of Fords as reasonably well-built American cars

Ford’s greatest strength has been its marketing department. I think it’s starting to catch up to them.

ford wants the appearance of a well engineered product, not a well engineered product. doing the right thing is too expensive.

So I’m a part time test driver in CA and some of the routes we go through are the Manhattan beach area. Well A long time ago when I used to work nights, we took the test vehicles out and drove them through the Manhattan beach area. A couple cops came out of a restaurant to their vehicles as we past them. well several

This is a solid solution for a lot of people. They even make devices that you can plug an electric dryer + a car to a 240v and it will auto switch the power as needed between the devices. Only catch is I’ve never seen a Washer or Dryer in a garage in the mid-west, so its not every home owner.

In theory you get the free mobile charger with purchase right? Its not going to be fast charging at home, but it lets you figure out if your daily life works.

Same, I’d be interested but not at that price. Shorter term is OK. 14 days for $300, no stupid acquisition fee. That sounds better.

I...really like this idea. We live in an older house in New England, so no off street parking, and we wondered how feasible having an EV would be using only charging stations during the week. We wouldn’t have to “top off” every day.

Sounds like something I would be interested in, but $900 for a month hmmm

About 20 years ago I actually had a sales person have me hold off taking the car home for a day to be absolutely sure the financing would go through. He said he absolutely hated having to call someone and tell them they needed to bring the car back in and preferred to wait a day or two to make sure all is well.

but the dealer is the one who set up the financing and said “you’re good at XYZ terms. Enjoy your new ride!” and sent them out the door. If the customer doesn’t even know that the financing is not locked in and done because there is a person telling them (or insinuating) anything else, and that person is someone who

We don’t need a law because car dealers care about their reputation? Since when?
