4th gear - I work in the industry (business attraction) on the municipal side. Its a race to the bottom unfortunately. States like Michigan are throwing these companies 30 year tax abatements (pay no property taxes) in order to lure huge battery factories with thousands of employees to little town that will never be…
I don’t know what you are smoking saying most gas cars have 200 miles range...
Had a Kia Sorento for 3 years. Zero issues, great car. I assume you’ve never actually owned one.
With you there. Good cars with terrible support. Their dealers almost seem angry to be Hyundai/Kia dealers.
So he made a shitty hybrid? Truly a genius who has invented something new that completely does not exists /sarcasm.
I disagree with 85 mph speed limiters. From what I can tell, 6 US states have 80 mph speed limits in rural areas.
Jesus, only 15mph? Free-flow traffic on most rural roads and interstates are 15mph above the speed limit.
Man, I WISH I lived in a world where “stupid” and “selfish” could be trained out of people! Glad you live there, but that has never, ever, ever, ever matched my experience.
I am continually amazed that somehow people think they have the right to a car that can go 200mph on public roads.
Better driving exams or good sense for drivers should solve a lot of issues.
One issue with AVs is that they aren’t the real answer to traffic and congestion that people make them out to be—the real solution to that would be a proper, working public transportation system. Too bad America spent the last half-century or so destroying what they had of that.
I remember 10 years ago when all the dopes were saying we’ll have self driving cars in a few years I said it won’t happen in our lifetimes. btw, if you can’t climb in the back seat after a night of drinking then it’s not self driving. All these dopey Tesla owners (the worst) who say they have a self driving car, it…
What would America be like if 1/10th of that was invested into better driving training 10 years ago?
lots of very good things in here, but you left out the simple fact this jackass has convinced the masses that EV’s and AV’s are somehow synonymous with each other. For all the good things he forced the industry to do in EV development to keep up, I think at this point he’s working against it by continuing to rely on…
All the money going into self driving should have been put into public transportation, and all the political effort to allow it should have been put into removing restrictions on building walkable neighborhoods.
Everyone in the country wearing a high-powered transponder. Can’t think of any way that could go wrong.
Cool. Crossing the street? Don’t want to get run over? Be sure to wear your beacon. Will one beacon work for all self-driving cars, or do I need a Ford beacon, a Tesla beacon, a Rivian beacon, a GM beacon, ...?
Imagine blowing billions of dollars chasing the next big technological revolution all because some idolized attention seeking narcissist was willing to promise the world it would be here “next year” over and over and over again. When in reality he was offering essentially the same fucking driver assistance as other…
Europe had so many nice things that it's hard adjusting to a second rate America when returning...
