I guarantee Bumgarner has said “so much for the tolerant Left!” at least once in the past three years.

I think Rafa does have a good chance at catching up to Federer if, as you believe, Federer stalls at 20 titles (although he has won 3 titles over 2017-2018). Nadal is a good 5 years younger than R-Fed. If he wins this final, he’s at 18. I think there’s a good chance at him winning 2 of the next 4 French Opens after

I think Fed would be considered, almost inarguably, the GOAT if he hadn’t lived at the same time as Nadal who has been so dominant on clay that he’s locked up the French open for his entire career. Most people realize that Federer is also great on clay, even though the surface negates many of his strengths, but he

For whatever reason it blows my mind that we can be watching arguably the overall goat playing and losing to the one surface goat. Like I think fed is better overall, but Nadal is better on clay. Something about that strikes me weird

Fair, but here’s the thing: all sports team owners are scum, even the “good” ones.

I said this elsewhere, I’ve been a casual Warriors fan most of my life and pretty dedicated for the last decade or so.
I feel comfortable accepting that they’re the villains in a lot of scenarios. I still like the players but having the owner group be a bunch of Venture Capital douchebags has really made it hard to

It’s time like this when Donald Sterling misses being a minority owner.

Removed for trying to own minority.

I see nothing wrong with calling out Walmart execs and shareholdersgreed to their faces.

was probably a mark who was just asking to be taken to the cleaners.

There was a time when I mocked the sort of person who’d use payday loan services. I figured any goober who’d read the “Borrow $200, Pay Back $203!” sign and not understand that the implicit caveat in that advertisement was, “Assuming you pay your loan back the same day you took it out,” was probably a mark who was

Totally get that Cessa was supposed to get outs and he didn’t do it... but Frazier definitely allowed base runners from first to score on two different occasions when they shouldn’t have passed 2nd, let what should have been a routine pop-up drop, and almost let his 2nd basemen tear his ACL. Cessa didn’t pitch well

If it doesn’t matter, then neither do they. So it has to matter.

Because we know that in today’s stock market, stock price has a very reality-based relationship to a company’s financial health and outlook

You seem really motivated to defend American Airlines management

This is exactly right. Shareholders don’t run the company. Management runs the company.

You say that as if shareholders have some sort of direct impact on a company’s management or governance. Owning stock only comes with the power to sell that stock .... well, that and a proportional vote on motions at the annual shareholder meeting.

Actually, this is not correct. American Airlines has already received the cash from its initial offering of stock. What happens on the secondary market (the stock exchanges) does not impact American Airlines day-to-day operations. If the stock price falls, I’m sure investors would not be happy with their management,

I also found that line odd....
