I don’t give Bethesda my money because their games look and play like poop, but I recognize how well they do in systems and storytelling.
I could not say it better. They look, feel, and perform the same. They start ugly as sin, and then modders make them look pretty. It’s a lazy way to work.
While I highly appreciate your reporting and every point you make in this article is sound, that doesn’t change the fact that every Bethesda game since oblivion looks and feels like oblivion and those of us who played oblivion to the ground in 2008 are getting tired of playing oblivion for the nth time in 2018.
if the score is tied at the end of 12 games, the match goes to a rapid chess tiebreak; if that ends in a tie, to a blitz tiebreak at yet shorter time limits, etc. Carlsen is supreme and Caruana relatively weak at those time controls, so Carlsen has little incentive to take chances in the classical games. Caruana on…
His legacy is winning a national title as a freshman at Syracuse.
Yeah. But they know that. The ultra-wealthy know that if you want national growth, throw in with the base. If you want personal wealth, build tax cuts.
Depends on the terminal you’re in.
Even my lowly hometown of just over 200k people tried to be in the running. I feel bad though because this is only a win for Amazon. They’ll get massive tax breaks while the cities will be hit with gentrification ( New York even more so) and home and rental prices that are going to get crazy high crazy fast (again,…
Its weird, almost like companies value resources that help them make money over tax breaks that barely qualify as a rounding error for them. Like, an educated populace that can easily travel to your facility with adequate infrastructure and utilities is way more important than a tax break in a location where you’ll…
In the movie Rollerball, the dystopian vision was that something like 20 global corporations, each representing a certain sector of the economy, controlled the world. They were off by 19. Amazon will swallow us all as we bicker over football players kneeling. And we don’t even have a sport as cool as Rollerball.
It’s not Bezos’ fault that politicians are so goddamned stupid they they thought it was a legit competition from the start.
So. You’ll complain about a foreign sovereign nation, Israel, and say that the first job of the new congresspeople should be shutting down foreign aid to them because of the Palestinian apartheid (I agree with you about that, by the way).
From a certain point of view it’s not materially different from taking out a loan to go to college or other job training. On the individual basis, you’re sacrificing future wealth (in terms of expected loan repayments) in exchange for an expected higher earning capacity. For the town, they’re sacrificing future wealth…
The problem with your defense of this is that, indeed, the employees - many extremely low paid - have to pay all their taxes (and NYC is a triple tax municipality; federal, state and city income tax). So while the enormiusly profitable corporation isn’t paying, their struggling employees (while paying the exhorbitant…
I get the logic from health department point of view but if not enough people are getting fed then fresh food from a kitchen is likely better than dumpster diving. And yes, interesting that it is the only time the government seems to care about the homeless is if someone is trying to help feed them(almost like they…
There are actually lots of laws around the country prohibiting giving food to the homeless without a permit. I am probably in the minority here in that I do think the reasoning is sound - except that starvation and malnutrition will kill them too, just more slowly. So it’s hard to take it seriously as a real concern…
The NRA will have dick to say about this shooting; they think the 2nd amendment only applies to white people.
We will never be the “good guy with a gun.” The 2nd amendment was never written “for us” it was written to protect “them” from “us.”
That pass is also of particular note because it marks the last time that Melo passed the ball.
