Totally agree. I tried GTA IV and V. IV was a slog and I’ve never been more bored than trying to play through an hour of GTA V. Sleeping Dogs was great.

I think I loved Sleeping Dogs because it’s basically GTA except I don’t hate everything about it. The hand-to-hand combat is pretty fun and the locale is actually interesting. I had way more fun with it than I ever expected to.
Oh no someone made a post where I’m not 100% sure they’re joking! I must educate them just in case!
I remember Murder by Numbers as a random crap horror movie I got suckered into renting once.
Unfortunately we’re at that point where people are convincing themselves that they’re not that bad. Revenge of the Sith is even called “pretty good” by some people, which I think they’re confusing with “it resembles a professionally-constructed movie unlike the other two”.
I think we’re talking about science fiction, not superhero movies. Anything that doesn’t strictly have normal humans talking isn’t a necessarily a superhero movie.
I like both but thought the TV series held back where the comic didn’t. In the comic it’s very plain to see the argument that if supes were real, they might behave just like out of control rock stars.....but with dangerous powers to boot. The show is really good don’t get me wrong, but it goes out of its way to show…
Oh no not the world building!!!!!!
I liked it well enough too. The proper Civ titles were far better of course, but it was a nice game for what it was and I know people who have enjoyed it who have never touched a mainline Civ game.
You can’t play video games and read about the on the internet too without having to deal with this bullshit. If you enjoy it, go for it. I liked the tone of this article very much.
I think the running thing is just a bad decision. The idea of walking slowly through every backtracking segment of this game is not a good thing.
I wouldn’t compare it to Death Stranding personally. The open world elements of Shenmue were pretty revolutionary at the time and games since have adopted them as norms. The stuff Shenmue did that was new at the time we now take for granted in video games. I don’t think anything Death Stranding does that’s new will…
After the first couple hours, I more or less agree. The game “sticks to its roots”, which we knew would be the case from past footage, but sometimes it’s to a fault. Or it’s just lazy/shoddy design in some places. I’m not sure which.
As I’ve said elsewhere, what is the obsession people have with being able to play a video game any time, anywhere? Is it really necessary to be able to stream Destiny on your phone for 15-minutes while waiting for your table at a restaurant? Not to mention how often you’re going to be without Wi-Fi in such situations.
It says more about what the hell has happened with game installs than it does Stadia when being able to play a game immediately after buying it is described as “exhilarating”.
Doom Eternal being pushed back makes it look so much worse. At least with that game, people could talk themselves into trying a new thing when they bought the game instead of just on their usual console.
Don’t agree with you on everything there but I’m glad to see I’m not the only one that’s a little burnt out on these movies and doesn’t think they’re all “must see’s” anymore. The majority of them are very fun, but I now watch them a couple years late. Lately I just find the vast majority of them to be 7's or 8's with…
I liked WW but not for the same reasons as the author. Personally I felt like the “running out of the trench” scene was ruined by the fact that when the camera freezes and swings around her, it is so obvious she is on a sound stage. They don’t even try to mask it. It just looks bad and takes you out of the movie. …
Nice. I tend to think that Wonder Woman’s final battle was a bit cheese and Black Panther’s was basically two CGI Power Rangers fighting (intercut with the battle from Star Wars Ep. 1), but I liked them overall. Really liked WW’s anti-war messaging that didn’t get in the way of just being a superhero movie if that’s…
From that tweet above: “It’s a mistake to not capture sentiment data.”
