I don’t disagree that the whole thing is fascinating but as you said the pricing structure will be key. The fee plus $60 a game (no reason to believe this will change) could easily be more than what people now spend on consoles.

I don’t know if this is the time for an idea like this, but it is indeed the future. Once the majority of internet users can stream reliably, hardware is dead, and I can’t say I’ll disagree with that. I can see if someone thinks this is 10 years too early, but it’s going to happen sooner or later.
I play retro games and have a sizable but modest collection compared to the most hardcore of enthusiasts. I did not know this. I don’t have a nostalgic attachment to Nintendo though. Oh well.
In theory yes, but did you happen to pay $60 for Tennis Aces or Mario Party?
This somewhat implies that they EA actually cares if the game isn’t perfect and 100% ready to launch. Destiny sold a ton, so the suits said “make us a Destiny and release it while the trend is definitely still in”. That’s all this is.
Same. I thought it was an average game that gets propped up because of the Bioshock name and the “deep” ending.
But we still act surprised for some reason. I thought Watch Dogs had to the straw that broke the camel’s back. That came came out almost 4 years ago, and we still go through this every......single......time.
Yes let’s discuss what “real gaming” is. Seems like a healthy topic to debate.
25% off a Nintendo game is like 50% off any other game!

I don’t have a problem with that, I just don’t agree with it for the same reason that generally keeps BR2049 from being a modern classic: the length. It sucks, it sucks, it sucks, it sucks. The movie is great in every other way, it’s just not a story or world where we need to approach Lord of the Rings-level run…
I’ve defended Microsoft a lot of times for sure, but the exclusive thing has been beyond any defense whatsoever for a couple of years. When people mention Halo and Gears I almost think they’re just being kind to Microsoft. Halo hasn’t been anything special for a couple of games now, and Gears is a solid franchise but…
Just bring back SENTUAMESSAGE
In my opinion, the key to online dating is putting your best self forward while being supremely honest. I think a lot of people come off as unimpressive in their online dating profiles because they’re afraid of someone not liking what they see. The truth is that you were never going to make connections with those…
Love Suda’s quirks, but anyone watching the evolution of this game with honesty had to have known this wouldn’t quite shape up. When Suda took the stage right before the Switch was announced, he didn’t even have a concept of what the game would be. When trailers/gameplay were available, the gameplay looked like an…
You and the article are both wrong. There was a slight push back from Democrats, but not the “blue wave” that some people expected. All in all it was noteworthy but nothing crazy for either side as far as large swings of power.
Right there with you. The bloated.....well, everything......in that game just mystifies me. Glad people had fun with it, but it almost ruined my love for the first game.
Same here. I played through it with a smile on my face, but it’s basically an updated version of Arkham City but with Spider-Man. Incredibly well done, but it felt too unoriginal in some ways, and there’s a decent amount of fluff in the quests.
It’s just like listening to the radio except you have thousands of choices and pick exactly what you want.
This was basically my comment below but you were able to be much more diplomatic haha.
I’m far from Mr. Corporate Defender, but I’m not going to blame a company for some fan sinking into depression over a commercial product or sending death threats, simply because that company thought it’d be a good idea to foster an online community.
