Is ESC fully, 100% defeatable without resorting to aftermarket tunes?
Is ESC fully, 100% defeatable without resorting to aftermarket tunes?
Damn I can’t wait to see these on future track days.
Such is the way of the world. I like the VWs but the touch controls with the MK8 would drive me insane. I wish they would have stuck with regular buttons.
I call them in-betweeners(tweeners). In between the base-ish models and the performance variants like true ‘M’ cars. Nothing wrong with those either. The majority of enthusiast cars are tweeners, and that’s perfectly fine. Still fast and handles well. But still falls short of the king of the hill, stock for stock.…
Ok let me make it clear. Not all sportscars are performance variants. Not all performance variants are traditional sportscars, I.E. Civic Type R.
It’s a good idea. I’m not mad at it, and I’m glad it does in fact, exist. It’s better than getting nothing at all.
Oh I get what your saying. I’m not expressing frustration at you. I just feel that if car makers set slightly higher production limits on their performance sedans and coupes, every single one would still sell, even with a minuscule portion of the market.
And they go around corners even better with an LSD.
Oh no here we go with “I have X car without an LSD and would X, X, and X all kinds of cars” bullshit.
I never claimed that they did. What I am saying is that getting an M3 allocation is not an easy task. So M3s are selling.
LoL no. No LSD(or clutch torque vectoring or electronically actuated LSD), not a performance variant. Performance means more than just going fast in a straight line.
Is that why the wait list for performance coupes and sedans(true Ms, true RSs, true AMGs, Porsches) from upmarket manufacturers is months and months long?
I very much doubt your modified Tiguan is as fun as a stock, purpose built performance sedan from the factory.
Laughs in $20k markup.
Upmarket, sure. A lot of performance CUV versions are sold. But enthusiasts don’t buy AMG GLCs, Porsche Macans, or Audi RS Q8s, or BMW X3 Ms. That’s what rich dentists and plastic surgeons buy their wives and mistresses. Enthusiasts would buy the car versions instead.
Kona N already did it.
Nissan engines sound horrendous. The VQ doesn’t make my ears bleed as much the Nissan 4 cylinders such as the KA24 and QR25. They sound like the lazy small pickup truck engines that they are. Not only that, they’re also unremarkable. Even with the higher revving, more powerful QR25'HR’ found in the B16 Sentra SE-R…
5th: No shit. People generally drive less after the 4th of July celebration weekend. That’s like peak holiday season during the warmer months. After it passes, people go back to their regular lives to ruminate on the accumulation of their summer vacation debt and work it off before the winter holidays. And kids have…
If Dodge drops the Charger and Challenger in lieu of making crate engines, bodies, and a la carte parts so one can build an entire old school muscle car in their own garage, then I guess that’s cool.
I think it’s a risky move for the majority of car makers to do the same at this time.
