I like where your heart is, but we passed a ridiculously broad stand your ground law in this state a couple of years ago. When it’s possible for shouting words to be construed as an assault, I’m not about to start shouting at a gun nut who thinks he might be justified in shooting me.

“Through no fault of their own” - they made the choice to board an airplane with a checked gun knowing that this was a possibility.

R.I.P party of personal responsibility.

Growing up in a conservative environment in a red state, I heard my entire youth about how I needed to prepare myself against the evil liberal influences of college. I suppose those fears were well founded because I went to college and embraced a liberal worldview, but part of me thinks that highlighting the worst

I apologize for offending you with my observation from the game. Didn’t mean to upset your morning.

The Thunder could have used some defensive communication last night. I was at that game and half of the stands were shouting to cover LeBron, but he had his way with them off screens. He seemed to be able to get them to switch Abrines onto him at will and then just dominate him.

Some of my favorite lyrics these days:

*Appluase* Good work.

Well done. Well done.

Well done. Well done.

I came here for this. Thank you.

I don’t think it’s misleading. We’re not starting from scratch here. We’ve got a system in place for how translated contracts work in Arizona. It doesn’t appear that the people who want to get rid of the old system have established that it creates any sort of undue burden on insurance companies or consumers. Without a

It makes absolutely no sense to my rational brain and I think it’s completely wrong, but through having versions of this discussion with various names/nick names over the years, I’ve learned that there are just people who for whatever reason (I assume their mothers drank through pregnancy) use “is short for” entirely

My girlfriend does not offer the sex until I’ve properly fed her. My cooking skills are really all I bring to the relationship.

For people who hate participation trophies, Boomers sure have a hell of a lot “Greatest Dad/Mom in the world” coffee mugs though.

Lavender at least shouldn’t be toxic to the cats. I suppose the diffuser could be spitting it out at a really high concentration that’s dangerous, but the “caliming” collars they sell for cats are coated with lavender. The plant itself is not toxic to cats. I grow it inside with catnip, rosemary, and spearmint as a

Yep, been through that life. Raised Southern Baptist in the near south. Went through True Love Waits twice. Used to get to my high school an hour early to sing praise and worship songs in the parking lot and witness to sinners. Youth group trips all the time, whether it was Discipleship Now, lock ins, Falls Creek.

For me the distinction is that for a lot of people, you are born into religion and you are raised to believe that following this religion is the only way to live a fulfilled life. I grew up Southern Baptist, with a couple of Youth Ministers who were straight up Evangelical. I didn’t start questioning my faith until

Now that’s the sort of speech I remember from my days growing up in a Southern Baptist church that was pretty Evangelical.
