Probably the next S2000. That's the most crashed car I know of. I never thought the STI's were particularly crash prone? They have less than 1/2 the power of the hellcat and have AWD to put that power down.

This car is aimed at amateurs who don't have an entire R&D department dedicated to racecar development. This is for the feeder series and for people to get used to driving light cars that have a lot of downforce without breaking the bank.

The BMW clown shoe. I think the Z4 clown show is even more "unicornier"

I will admit to being a BMW fanboi — and I used to be an M-snob, too. But then we acquired a 2000 323i to our stable, and damn if that isn't one of my favourite cars of all time. It stacks up nicely against both my E36 M3 and my E46 M3 in terms of real-world driving enjoyment. It isn't as fun on the track or to

God, I miss this kind of snow. I miss stepping off the snowmobile trail in upper NH and sinking in up to my armpits.

Different roads and drivers accustomed to other cars traveling that fast. What is possible/safe on the Autobahn has little to nothing to do with what possible/safe on roads in the United States

I helped report out this story with Doug and, while I think this adds the proof that's out there, with almost any of this at some level you're going to have to trust the story and trust the person.

I've definitely had to do this before at track days - luckily I only do my track days with reputable outfits that are very proactive in terms of driver safety, and these issues are handled promptly and professionally.

That's the thing. No one should be discouraged from doing a track day. They just have to learn to do it the right way. That's the fun part, learning and getting better. And I don't think a car like a GT-R suits his experience level.

FWIW, if you ever find yourself in a trackday session with a driver like this (which you will) there's a way to handle it.

SO Jelly. I have to wait until next week to pickup mine as per sales agreement to keep in the showroom for a week. Arrived this morning. So quite the coincidence.

Great so I can go get a novice license and a conceal & carry online! America!!!

Not too certain about that less fun bit.

The point about looking out for hiding spots is really important. If it looks like a blind curve or somewhere you can stash a car, you'll eventually find a cop there. In NoVa, at least.

Agreed. I've lived here a long time (not a native—fuck that!) and while I was reading the article I couldn't believe that 93mph was even a speed. I've tipped 85 a few times on 95 but only for passing and only where I can't see any turnarounds and NEVER on holiday weekends because the state cops all vacay on I95 for

Responding to dumb posters encourages them. We shouldn't encourage them (although I have done it lately myself- what can I say, its a work in progress).

I hear so many great things about the ST. Yes, I'm in the resto/performance business and letting cars sit is the worst. So many people really screw up their cars by letting them sit, or worse yet they cold start, move and shut down without bringing up to temp. The M3 will be brought up to temp often over the long

My DD is a '00 cherokee that needs to be replaced with 2-3k pickup and my wife DD's an '04 wrx. I do have an endless project NB miata, but a 997 turbo would be a stupid amount of awesome car for the $. The M3 will see around 1k miles/yr. Its so damn nice I hate to drive it more or do any mods etc. Now a 997 turbo

As a Northern (Great State of) Virginia resident I have this to say: it was the county where you sped that had more to do with it than anything else. I imagine your status as a District resident didn't help matters. As someone who also got nabbed doing 33 mph over the speed limit, I share your pain. I did not have to
