Coming to TLC this fall, "Breaking Duggar"

I work in TV as well, so there must have been something that MAJORLY pissed off the execs at OWN (or scared the lawyers) for them to have pulled the plug on a show that far in production.

You might have luck if you look for a designer’s fall/winter collection. I got my dress at Macy’s (they operate a few bridal salons across the country), and I believe my consultant said that all of the dresses that they have can have straps or sleeves added.

I cannot believe how many (recent!) pictures I’ve seen where the bride's dress is not properly fitted. I think an ill fit is much more noticeable in strapless dresses, but if you’re already spending the money on alterations, make sure the dress properly fits you! You shouldn’t be hiking your dress up over your boobs

Thank you for introducing me to these. I hadn’t seen them before and now they’re all I want to see.

Escort card = Seating card. It has the guest name and table number for the reception. We just used the cards that our venue gave us, but the info could be handwritten on seashells that you gathered on the beach where he proposed, or attached to miniature jars of maple syrup that you tapped yourselves at your family’s

Exactly. A lot of people (men, mostly) get very rich off of other people (men, mostly) who are paid extraordinary amounts of money to literally play games. And I don’t mean to diminish the skill and dedication of the people who have devoted their lives and their bodies to the game, but it’s still entertainment.

Howie Day played my college the semester after “Collide” blew up. He got into a shouting match with student who was unimpressed by the concert (the kid was being a dick, but it was a weird show) and then it was heavily rumored that the school forced him to turn around his bus after he left with a few freshmen onboard.

Willful ignorance definitely plays a role, but there's a difference between thinking that women in cheaper salons don't make as much money as those in nicer ones, and finding out that it's indentured servitude in some places.

I get really bummed every time I hear about new conflicts or censoring or lawsuits. I’ve been finding myself less and less able to excuse the things I hear and keep watching. I just really fucking hate CNN (which is why we started watching AJA to begin with).

We did this as well, but for all couples, not just married ones (I have a few people in my family who are in very long-term relationships but aren’t married, and I didn’t want to exclude them).

And rape victims are not FORCED to have abortions, for fuck’s sake. You could have literally any other people conceived after Roe up there and it would be the same point.

I was reading a summary on yesterday’s court proceedings, and my understanding — which could totally be wrong — is that in this case, the jury wasn’t asked whether they thought he deserved to die, but rather they had to all agree that the death penalty was an appropriate sentence for at least one of his charges.

It’s almost impressive that Chuck was able to pivot so quickly to find another “cause” of the crash, since his hunch that the engineer was a POC hired only due to affirmative action was quickly proven to be wrong. Almost.

And the people that like to shit on her forget that she attended Le Cordon Bleu and I believe her childhood, spent helping her mother raise her four younger siblings, influenced the concept. Oh, and if she started today and called it “food hacks” people probably wouldn’t be as harsh.

The mental Olympics she is going through while trying to not say the word "choice" is just ... beautiful.

I think that will depend a lot on what Stewart is going to do next, and if that will involve taking staff with him (or if some of the more senior members of the staff will go to Colbert), and whether Noah's show will have a big tonal shift, the way that TDS did once Jon took over.

Samantha Bee was one of my favorite all-time correspondents. Her pieces at the conventions were amazing. I'm going to miss having her on the show greatly, but I'm happy we still have Jessica Williams and her don't-give-a-fuck attitude.

I was a senior in High School during the start of the war, and I remember asking "but, isn't Bin Laden behind 9/11? Why are we going to Iraq? What on earth is going on?" I was legitimately confused over this and thought that maybe I had missed some sort of link between 9/11 and Hussein.

I agree. The headline is super shitty, but it doesn't read that terribly once you look at the full explanation.
