Lol at “cyberbully”. Somebody call Melania
Oh my stars. I’m due in two months and I think I might do this. I’d probably get empty gelatin capsules and fill them... I wonder what looks convincingly like dried placenta.
Well that depends. Is the goal to actually decrease disease spread, unintended pregnancy, and abortion? Or is it to keep the youths “pure”? Because the right is split between reasonable people who are working towards the former, and fundies who are for the latter. And (this is a bit speculative but) as low turnout in…
Right. I’m 29 and want to be done by 35, so yeah. Besides, we could fix our whole government by 2020 (lol) and still have a nuclear war, or immense natural disaster, etc.
Right, I was agreeing with you. Sometimes that crowd tries to claim that it’s not in the bible because it simply didn’t happen, which is not true. And then I went off on a small tangent. Sorry if there was a miscommunication there
*raises hand* guilty. Idk man. Life does go on (probably?). Or the election made the fears that I had about pregnancy/parenting seem smaller and surmountable, at least in the micro sense from my place of relative privilege.
Considering the gutting of prenatal care in the current healthcare bills, even that isn’t really accurate anymore. It’s literally just “give birth, even if it’s dangerous for you or the fetus but who fucking knows because you couldn’t afford care during your pregnancy”
And while modern surgical and medical methods of abortion is of this time, pregnancy termination is most assuredly not.
“age at first sex” phrasing made me lol
Yes. Yes I have. One I took anyway because I was desperate and it was a long two years. A couple others I avoided because I wasn’t desperate enough.
Why do you hate us all
now this I can get on board with
I’m guilty of the ultrasound fb post. I agree it’s kinda weird but I also didn’t want to find little shoes or make a sign or whatever so was like eh fuck it, heres my uterus
Yeah, I’m 29 and in rural America, so I’m late to the game. I was pretty wrapped up in grad school and getting my career going. The timings actually pretty great bc a fair number of friends are done having kids and not only have solid advice but are also wanting to unload baby gear.
There’s just so much that’s so very strange to me. And thanks!
No sweat, it happens. Besides, it’s not as dumb as our freaking country mandating zero paid time for paternal leave
“women who give birth will now be eligible for six weeks of paid maternity leave” - the article.
Yeah, you’re across the pond right? Like the article said, women are only entitled to 12 weeks of unpaid leave here. I work for a small business (under 30 employees), and I get no paid mat leave. This is pretty standard for my career path.
Interesting perspective!
Congrats! I’m having one in about two months. I guess I’m just not open in general. But maybe going through this experience will change that to an extent.
