Please more articles like this. Whenever something offensive (or “offensive”, whatever) is in a Japanese game, there’s always cries of “well it doesn’t bother Japanese women, so westerners can’t be bothered either!” There’s never enough proof either way, and I like seeing women in other countries showing that feminism

Ose’s looked like that for ages in SMT. He was in the first game back in ‘92!

My sister’s in town on winter break so I’m going to fight myself and put down FFXV to play stuff I’ve wanted to play together, so... Last Guardian or maybe Life is Strange! Lots on that list though. And hopefully I finish Amnesia: Memories. Stupid VNs.

Thanks, I’m glad you appreciate it. New GHM games give me reason to chatter incessantly about the old ones, haha. :D

As a big GHM fan but someone who hasn’t played this yet (it’ll be finished when I get home from work), I think your feeling that it seems to be kind of trying to be a Suda game is because he’s only a/the writer, I believe. Like a lot of their recent games, his actual involvement is kind of vague; he’s been out

I hardly play shooters and can’t really do multiplayer (bad internet) but I’ve heard so many recommendations that my interest is piqued (plus, robots). Is it worth it for the campaign only, you think?

Yeah, I agree it’s really tough to decide either way. VNs (especially otome and bl games) just don’t do well enough over here that if a company agrees to have it localized, I understand them being defensive of their material. I’ve sunk 40+ hours into many otome games, most of which I’ve bought at full price, getting

He was even in Persona 4 2. But only the biggest nerds know that. ;)

I gotta say, when I was working on a VN it was oddly fun to decide how different characters blink--whether it’s two in quick succession or a slower, heavier blink. It’s one of those small touches you can give a character that subtly hints at personality.

I’m in the middle of Cold Steel now without playing Sky first. I’m enjoying it (aside from some small stuff) but the way your time is sort of forcefully spent I can see getting tiring after a while. (Maybe it’s okay because I play pretty sporadically?) But it’s actually sort of nice-in a silver lining sense-to know

I’m intrigued? A card battle game definitely wouldn’t be my first choice, but with some of the artists behind it, I’m willing to give it a shot. Considering things like Pluto and Young Black Jack, I don’t think Tezuka’s legacy is untouchable or shouldn’t be reinterpreted... and I kinda want to see who’s going to be

That’s sort of a misunderstanding of the scene. It’s supposed to be bad as in, Tidus purposefully forces his laughter because he’s trying to cheer Yuna up by getting her to loosen up when they’re in a very serious situation. If you watch the full scene, even the other characters have a negative reaction, then Yuna

Proof (?) they should’ve shown this at the conference:
