It’s just obnoxious that they can’t meet in the finals.
It’s just obnoxious that they can’t meet in the finals.
It is always thus.
Yes, the second and third rounds in the West will be great.
Indeed. And somehow the Spurs managed to keep the pressure on while managing minutes.
At this point, 3 games of semi-rest aren’t going to make a huge difference, I wouldn’t think. Get the record, sweep your first round series, then catch up on your Zzzz’s.
Sure, but like I said, there are a ton of people who weren’t in Portland’s shoes who now say they would take Durant. I liked the arguments in favor of Durant at the time, for what it’s worth (though, to be fair, I was mostly scared about Oden’s ancient looking body - he looked like a crooked oak tree).
The Spurs got suuuuuper lucky twice, and ended up with David Robinson and Tim Duncan. Around that bit of luck they aggressively went after international starts before everyone else, and then developed their talent. Parker was not a certain All Star. Good luck ever recreating Kawhi Leonard.
Right, but the odds of you replicating those three picks in a row are essentially impossible, even if you recreate the losing conditions that allow you to select in those positions in three straight drafts. I think that’s the point.
And even Durant is a luck issue. Seattle would have been happier with the #1 overall in that draft, but they “lost.” It was lucky they were number two and didn’t take Oden, who was the “safe” choice, just like Okafor.
That one is risky. He was overseeing a well-oiled machine. If I were hiring him, I’d want to see some pretty substantial assistants - though that has its own sort of problem.
1) Wiggins’ shot is so compact and simple that it seems like he will figure it out. It’s a quality looking shot, which hopefully bodes well. I know both he and Rubio have been shooting significantly better in the second half of the season.
the British are the ones that set up the democratic parts of the government and reduced the Shah’s power. This so-called puppet was trying to undo what they did.
Oh please. You can’t choose a lesser of two evils (at the time, from that perspective) then get mad that it’s evil.
Iran was not a colony of Britain at any point. Seriously, you guys need to get this straight.
You keep using the word ‘democratize’ when what you really mean is ‘nationalize’. Mossadegh was a pawn of the Soviet Union, period.
Yes he was elected by parliament after a campaign of assassination and intimidation by the Jebhe Mell which resulted in his election in an etempt to get things back under control (sound like anyone else’s election?). Also, you have over stated the voting pool, not all males were allowed to vote. It’s not the same as…
That is, literally, ass backwards. The Shah was suspicious of Mossadegh. Parliament voted for him so overwhelming, 79-12, that the Shah couldn’t mount any objection. The system was such that the Monarch retained powers (this was done intentionally so that Britain and western nations could negotiate with him, instead…
Nah. Just nah. The people of Iran let it happen, it’s on them. We have no responsibility to make sure every reaction is a good one. If it’s so bad the people need to change it.
I see, this is just ignorant trolling.
The CIA documents have been declassified. It’s not a rumor:
