I think you need to adjust your scale a little bit. My Fiat 500e, which is basically as small as a 4 seat electric car can be, weighs in at 2,980 lbs.  The thing seriously looks like a go kart and only has around an 80 mile range.  I love it, but it's only practical as a second cat.

I carry jumper cables, so that’s really the only fix I can offer at the side of the road (beyond helping them to push their car out of traffic). I’ve rescued cars with a jump, but I’ve also been told the issue is something else and haven’t gotten out my cables, just wished them good luck.

Can’t you just test drive the car you ordered before signing the paperwork to buy it? I assume any dealer would be happy to have an example of the latest and greatest to sell if you decide not to sign on the dotted line.

I’m not against this, but I definitely think an easier fix would be to tax capital gains on assets used as loan collateral.  Also, get rid of the capital gains step-up at death.

Depending on battery size and recharge times, electrification can also work better for trucks because drivers are required to take breaks and limit their driving time each day.  So if you have to take an hour break anyhow, it doesn't matter if that's how long the truck takes to fill up.
