No honor amongst thieves? I'm surprised.

Well... I guess this guy's solution to being bothered on public transport is not quite as drastic as that of Bernhard Goetz.

So far I really like it. The Metro desktop sort of reminds me of the new Camaro as compared to the first generation ones. It harkens back to my Win 3.1 days when I sorted my most used icons into program groups and tiled the groups on the desktop. I even continued this behavior into Windows 95 and beyond by placing my

Slinkys! I was, and still am, petrified of slinkys.

You have to remember, Windows 8's native gestures are different than Splashtop's. You're still using a mouse but you're controlling the mouse with your finger. So no swiping to open the panels. However, dragging with two fingers across the start screen does scroll it. I can see where you're having trouble on an iPhone

Just for fun last night, I installed Splashtop Streamer on Windows 8 (running in VMWare Workstation) and accessed it from my iPad. Went to the Starbucks by the college where I saw a good number of people craning their necks to see what I was doing. Only a few came over and asked me about it though.

Awesome! This is definitely on my watch list for next Hallowseason.

Somebody warped through the center of our galaxy?

My biggest gripe so far is that I can't change the keys to control the flippers in the pinball game (disabled?). My KVM switch uses a double-tap on the CTRL key to switch between computers. You can see where using the same key for the flippers would be a problem. Great game if you haven't tried it yet.

No reason you can't drop shortcuts to your favorite programs on the desktop. Or pin them to the taskbar. No real need to even go Metro. Maybe use Rainlender or similar to create your own start button? Maybe use Stardock Fences to coral your icons? Anyways, my guess is someone will figure out how to re-enable the start

Yeah. Found it. Right-click to bring up the menus. Click in the address bar to bring up frequent and pinned sites. Right-click on a tile (tile?) to open in new tab. How do you like the touch interface so far?

I saw an option to upgrade when I installed it. That should keep all your files and settings. I'd still back everything up first if I were you. I know I wouldn't install this on my primary system. You have to expect thing to go wrong since it's an early release.

Sorry about that. I thought you were giving me a snide comment because I was complaining about something not working. Now I get the fish. Thanks.

Thanks pmbaustin. As soon as I figure out how to open another tab, or window, in IE10 I shall do that. I guess the idea behind getting used to this new version of Windows is to forget your old ways of doing things. Either that, or keep dropping back to the desktop. Sort of reminds me of the switch from Win 3.1 to 95.

So the idea of sharing experiences with other people to find out if it's a bug is no longer the purpose of a beta? Thanks for the update.

What's with the fish?

I'm installing it in Workstation 8 at this very moment. If you get the "Windows Cannot Read the productkey settings from the unattend answer file" error, close down the machine, then disable the floppy. Try again.

Sounds like the chicken and the egg though. Is the movie based on the prophesy, or is the prophesy a vision of the movie? I'm sooo confused!

3)Sally will try to stop the reaper or become one of them....Longshot on that one.

Damn! I was just scanning the comments to see if anyone else thought of this. Well done sir.
