I think it would be so cool if aliens intercepted the old Star Trek broadcasts and thought they were real historical events. They could use these historical documents to duplicate the ship and technology and come here and meet us.

I learned about this thing called the Internet while chatting on a BBS. I found that I could dial into the computers at the UCSD library and get on the net there. This was way before WWW and graphical internet. It was while reading on usenet that I heard about a service that just started called America Online, and

What if you put a trampoline at the bottom of the cliff? Would you miss it because of the rotation of the moon? How high would you go if you did hit it? Do you have to wear a cape and red underwear over your blue leotards? So many questions, so few answers.

Give me a good old-fashioned crook like the 'Geezer Bandit'. Guy has robbed something like 12 banks around San Diego and never hurt anyone. He has threatened them with a gun but never used it. He's become somewhat of a anti-hero around here. Hope he doesn't hurt anyone.

"is someone's life really worth a handful of Apple products?"

"They don't call it "Cholo Vista" for nothing. "

That's really sweet. I may use the newspaper idea with Object Desktop. Maybe group sports, tech and news feeds on different pages.

I've been using Stardock's (maker of Fences) Object Desktop for years. It's not free, you pay a yearly subscription, but you can design and customize every aspect of your Windows interface. You can even download themes that other users created and change the appearance of your desktop, start menu, toolbars, windows,

How many people here had their basements set up as their own personal lair when they were younger? My buddies and I were very much like the gang on 'That 70's Show'. Good times!

Space elevator? Or at least a space escalator. C'mon people! Hop to it.

No love for Stardock's software? Because it's not free?

Whoa! Jesus. You need to take a chill pill bro. Actually, this may be a perfect entry for White Whine.

And yet... you responded. Mission accomplished!
