I always thought the ladder was there so that you had time to reflect on what you'd just been through, having just fought The End. Depending on how good you are at the game, The End can be a real slog. It took me like three hours the first time. Against an enemy who refused to kill me and was at one with the forest.

I thought the ladder climb was amazing, a time for Snake (and the player) to reflect on all he has been through up until that moment. It was moving when then Snake Eater vocals kicked in.

Battersea Power Station? Anybody?

Or, indeed, when you live in a part of the country which is still recovering from her economic 'cure'.

Thanks for that article, it's great! And sums up many of my feelings on the matter. An old lady has died, and I feel bad for her family. But I feel no sadness that Margaret Thatcher has left the world. I wish she hadn't left as much of a mark.

I like how ABC is owned by Disney. Who owns Marvel. The way I see it. They have a little bit of reason to misrep the movie. Not saying it is a good idea. But I can see why.

Apple: "Saga is pornographic material"

Not that I'm pretending The Maxix Revolutions was a good movie or anything, but the whole point of the movie was that Neo was bringing an end to the stupid cycle that kept coming before, by forcing peace between humans and machines via defeating Smith who was a threat to both. The Oracle says the tagline word for

As stated already in the comments, the Star Wars tagline isn't wrong, because episode 3 was the final of the six-movie Anakin Skywalker saga. So, saga complete.

I think it depends on the viewpoint you're coming from. The electronica scene has always been extremely picky about genre labels. If you played 2 step, you may very well lump Burial in with that. I think the majority of respectable critics and musicians would lump Burial in with Dubstep, though. Even he says that he

The problem (or the beauty) of The Fountain is that's rather subtle in how it speaks of life and death—and how it brings concepts such as enlightenment into play. It takes a couple of watches and some knowledge of (particularly eastern) myth to get. It's not vapid at all.

I think I am one of the 10 people in the world that actually liked The Fountain. It's soundtrack is also amazing.

The Fountain is Vapid? Um.. Well I guess to the majority of movie watchers it probably is. I've found only a select few truly understand what the movie is about. Considering my husband passed away last summer I know the power of this movie. It's about accepting death as apart of life rather than fighting it and the

The Fountain is great! That the "themes" don't "come to anything" doesn't mean it's dumb! The characters are rather well realized, it's a simple love story that trascends space and time.

The Fountain certainly amounts to more than "utterly vapid". And frankly, so does Avatar. It might be a simpler Dances With Wolves, but "simple" doesn't equate to "dumb". Not the sharpest script ever, but the story is perfectly logical and makes sense all the way through.

The Fountain? How??? I get that it's one of those movies that you either hate or love (or love to hate), but dismiss it as visually beautiful but utterly vapid is a crying shame. IMHO, it's central theme/core message came together quite beautifully at the end.

I just noticed that the top left corner always features a helicopter.

it's the good kind of shitty tv

The biggest endorsement they could show me is Mike "Mike Ross" Ross seeming to enjoy himself in the background.

Doesn't take much to get some men to express their contempt for women.
