Ugh, Britta’s in this?

I generally take stuff like that as “Break news! Working actor wants more work!” but with Frakes spending the vast majority of his time directing tv, it makes it seem a little more plausible.

I love TNG, but Picard has been so bad. Season 3 was written and filmed back-to-back with Season 2 so it’s likely to be more of the same.  Maybe they’ll set them up and the SNW team can take over the future direction, but I don’t have much hope for what is done with them on Picard.

If you do it right, your fans will flock to your defense on the internet, claiming that the game is totally playable, since all they really wanted was an incomplete beta.

Exactly - he knew his limitations, and that’s awesome! He realized that he’d have to give up some control over his passion project, and that he can’t do that.
Even if a game was ultimately produced, it would have been a misery for everyone involved.
To me that’s completely fair, if unfortunate for the people who were

Poor, naive Mr. Roberts... Cancel the Kickstarter? Non, non cher monsieur. You complete the kickstarter, then move the pledge system to a private platform. Make roadmaps which show playable monster parts and expanded in-gut universes, “procedurally generated, yet hand-crafted”. Sell Meat Armors and Skinwagons (that

sounds like its for the best.  i’ve tried to work with auteurs like this dude.  it’s a nightmare for everyone.  they can’t give up even the slightest amount of control, make any sort of compromise, and have to have a direct hand in everything even if they have no idea what it means, how to do it, or what it entails.

Not only is it a genre show fully within this site purview, but Syfy has a long history of small, low-budget shows that turn out solidly entertaining and really deserve bigger profile, like Warehouse 13, Killjoys, Dark Matter, etc.

Sure, but since Pontypool was great I won’t mind seeing the idea explored again.

...an epidemic that spreads through verbal communication...

It’s probably like the Hulk deal was: Universal has a right of first refusal on distribution, but no production rights.

“It’s one Universal, Michael. What could it cost, $10?”

I’m okay with this? I liked Wakanda Forever, but it really seemed like neither Letitia Wright nor Tenoch Huerta really had the screen presence to really carry a whole superhero movie. The mythology for the character seems really interesting, but he made neither an entertaining villain nor a compelling anti-hero.

I for one love how Marvel simply refuses to try and make a deal with Universal. They’re simply going to wait them out because they can literally afford to. A smarter company would realize this and simply sell them back. Alas, Universal is not a smarter company and will eventually return them for nothing.

I enjoyed the film but I'm just going to say, from Hermes to Namor, little wings on a person's feet that give flight has always been and always will be fucking stupid looking. Especially if they are intended to be like actually physically propelling them and aren't just like magically gifting flight.

These deals are certainly complicated but we do know (or can infer) the answer to several of your questions.

Biggest problem with Love & Thunder was that there was zero emotional impact at all. It’s about a man who’s reunited with the love of his life, only to discover that she’s dying. That should be a helluva story; instead it was just the basis for a bunch of gags. Waititi’s approach to Ragnarok worked because it was as

I honestly hope not. I think it would render his sacrifice kindof hollow. I think he knew. How could he not? Presumably he was flown in just like Andor and had a chance to see the prison was surrounded with water before he was shepherded inside.

John Scalzi has probably flagged the post for his lawyers.

The film was good but every time Lupita was onscreen is just emphasized that moving Letitia Wright into the marquee role was the wrong decision. She isn’t terrible, but for me at no point did either the actress or the character feel remotely convincing as the savior of Wakanda. She just doesn’t carry any gravitas,
