Was Charlie’s Angels ever really for women though? I thought the whole point was that it was super male gazey. (This is a genuine question; I’m too young to have seen the show.)

The talking points from The Peripheral show sounds like they have never read The Peripheral novel.

I will always most remember the two parter where they teamed up with their male counterparts mostly because of the scene where the cowboy one lassoed an airplane and rode his horse the opposite direction of the departing plane until he tore it in half. I remember even 7 year old me was like WTF.

No kidding. It’s really complicated, and very talky. There’s hardly any action to speak of. I don’t see how they can make it into a film that will draw a reasonably-sized audience.

This right here. That show survived on aesthetic alone (Plus I enjoyed the Fawn/High class Lady story line).  The main narrative was was just so plodding. 

Carnival Row was a hot mess of white people trying to explain privilege and racism through a really tone-deaf apparatus. Nothing really made sense in-world, and each episode felt like it was confused as to whether it was world building, or if it was character building, never settling on one.
