i was wondering when this thread was going to realize how stupid it was to judge teen taste on FM radio

how fitting, Claudia Kishi was the art person in the baby sitter's club, right?

not to mention making fun of someone with asperger's for like 10 fucking seasons

HOLY SHIT YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND

I agree with all of that except that Nick and Jess shouldn't get together, or at least explore their relationship.

god i love you guys. i agree with literally everything you guys said. i have to say, some honest trailers are funny, but other than that handful, its all crap humor, with cinema sins the king of crap

well now we know it takes a breakdown to make Melissa interesting

ah okay, I understand. idk, I just got a very insular tone from the book that rubbed me the wrong way but I understand and agree with what you said.

that…that makes a ton more sense upon rewatching that scene

I would argue against that via the example of Thrash metal, where Metallica went to Black Flag shows and met Henry Rollins backstage. Thrash in general is widely acknowledged in taking the punch of punk and instrumentality of NWOBHM

The book is vital and great, but it really, really pissed me off that they totally ignored the underground metal scene of the '80s and went "oh woe is me, no one wants us alternative bands".

fuck, it looks so enticing but I have so much homework to do

I discovered their youtube channel just yesterday, but I had no idea that they had more links on their site that can only be viewed by going their site!

you just convinced me to go hunt for the book!

I read the book, and while I don't remember everything from the book, I took an elective class in college on music history, and the teacher talked about how it was a lot about the midwest demographic getting cable first as much as the casual racism in the early days.

Read that book over Christmas break and wow was it good. just to add to your response, it does talk about how the lowering ratings were just pushing everything at NBC to the limit and stressing everyone out.

don't forget he thumbs upped away through the door!

That volvo 240 from the early 90s/ late 80s (I think) went well with the quirk and Portland

when I heard that, I got such a rush of flashbacks that made me warm on the inside.

yes, winston does help take you mind off the other characters and does heal you
