Nah, rewatch the scene between Judy King and Poussey. Poussey says that she told Soso about her life, so it wasn't an assumption. I would understand a little more if Soso was just an oblivious airhead spouting anti-black nonsense because she didn't know Poussey's history. She did tho. And Poussey planning a future

I agree. I lost respect for Poussey when she decided to stay with Soso after that, especially when she mentions that she was attracted to Soso's "hipster white girl" vibe. It's the kind of thing a black person who has internalized anti-blackness would say. By the time Poussey died, I really didn't care for her

No, the entire point of Bayley's back story was to humanize him, to show the audience that he was a good person, and that Poussey's death was a tragic result of when good collides. At least according to the writers.

LMAO I'm screaming!!

Kohan has said that she doesn't think you need to be a part of a group to write about them. This was in response to Transparent hiring a transgender writer or something. I agree with the critiques, particularly about the way they framed Poussey as a perfect victim. I'm confused how this will translate to better

Girl, we'll agree to disagree. Piper has a scar, Maria has years lost on her life. Piper should be glad she lived

Honestly, I would have gladly helped out. I was always neutral to Piper, but it was time for her to face some kind of consequence for her actions. She's cried one too many times for her tears to work on me any longer.

Piper's branding was so satisfying. It would have been ludicrous if she walked away unscathed after all that she did. I cannot empathize with a white woman who was so complicit with white supremacy when it was convenient for her. She earned that swastika.
