@smalleyxb122: Jag engine in the Fiero. Problem solved*.

It may not be reliable, but it looks (and sounds, I assume?) totally badass.

Saab 9000. I was a weird kid.

It would appear that that is, quite literally, his father's Oldsmobile.

@mithritades: One of the Panoz LMPs is a show car at Lime Rock. The Cadillac LMPs can be found on sale pretty much every year.

@DThr33: 93 octane in the US and Canada =/= 93 octane in whatever country you're in. Our octane ratings are the average of the MON and RON.

93 octane? People buy premium gasoline from Costco?!

@porsche9146: And a Cadillac CTS-V is a better car than a Rover CityRover.

@stephdumas: Needs more hubcaps flying off.

@Datsun_John: Are those the hazards at the end? Because it would be really cool (if somewhat impractical) if the hazards were actually sequential instead of plain ol' blinking corner lights like that.

@VeeArrrSix: It's the Duratec 37, which is a bored-out version of the Duratec 35/EcoBoost V6. I imagine you might want a beefier piston/rod setup, but the other EcoBoost bits should fit.

@I-Roll: No, you'll just have to find an empty lot and activate the "relearn" mode when you buy new tires.

@acarr260: Yeah, but nobody's going to be buying that stuff after you yank it out. It'd be better if Toyota never puts it in and you never pay for it.

The R8 LMPs sold for like $1,000,000 (in the Autoweek classifieds!) when they were obsolete. Hopefully these will be cheaper.

If they still can't meet that price, maybe they could start removing things like power windows, stability control, the radio... You know, for cost savings.

"This sort of check is totally legal— really!— and we don't anticipate any hassles whatsoever when the winners go to cash theirs."

I'm guessing the X-Wing pilot's flightsuit is not also his race suit?

Are we sure the terrorists haven't won?

Popular Mechanics on Google Books is one of my favorite internet timewasters... Sure, they've got like 50 or 60 years worth of issues on there, but I just love the 70s/80s visions of the future. Hot air balloons as recreational vehicles! Supersonic helicopters and trains that go from New York to Los Angeles in 5 hours!
