Exactly. Good for her.

Now this is how you boycott. I hope other successful writers with S&S follow Ms. Gay.

The Republicans are going on about their recent opportunity in Minnesota and the only thing that occurred recently was Mark Dayton was diagnosed with cancer.

Would love to see the cops arrest the planned parenthood protesters that stand outside all day harassing citizens....o WAIT!

Not limited to blocking traffic, but maybe just kind of annoy a former official some.

Marches and protests aren’t actually a lever of power in the way you’re trying to compare it, and you know it. Go tell it to the Tea Party and 2A protestors that gathered at state capitals the last 8 years.

Yeah. I kept reading how there were no arrests in DC on Saturday and I was like no shit, because white women are not considered dangerous in the same way as BLM protesters.

And the police will claim that all protesters are blocking traffic in any situation, in the same way they always accuse people of resisting arrest when they are beating them.

This is ludicrous.. It’s also financial incentive to arrest more people during a protest, and/or to use more expensive and unnecessary means in response. In addition to, you know, violating constitutional rights and effectively threatening people against protesting.

A similar bill is going up in Indiana and other states.

Yup, I think that’s exactly it. Followed by “Police make vague statement about deploying police ‘to ensure protesters’ safety’ when asked to justify.”

Shh. Don’t give away the ending.

Minnesota representatives, I have a better idea: DON’T MURDER CITIZENS!

As if that’s much different from what’s going on now. Compare the (largely white) Women’s Marches with any Black Lives Matter demonstration.

This is how I can see this possibly - and probably - playing out (and please, someone correct me if I’m wrong):

Allowing the government to sue protestors? My god, what is happening?

Maybe. ...But let’s not celebrate when the charges are dropped because records won’t be expunged. Surely, one of the goals was to photograph and fingerprint as many people as possible. They wanted to create arrest records so that anyone who protests again can be deemed to be uncooperative, resistant, or unfriendly

Anyone who says this isn’t straight up fascism, is a straight up fascist themselves. Our right to peacefully assemble, which means anything short of actually smashing shit up, is guaranteed by our 1st amendment constitutional rights. Don’t think for a second that this law will not be used by a federal agency at some

The unspoken caveat. Additionally:

“If you violate the law, if you block traffic, if you block access to a building, and if you are a black/brown person, that’s what this bill is for.”
