I feel like citing Hannah Arendt in support of your harassment campaign should qualify as gross misconduct. Odds of ol Hannah backing dude’s play? Zero!

I don’t fully understand it either. One of the linked articles has some of the other profs saying their hands are tied due to the tenure issue, but I wonder how true that is.

Whether she’s lying or not, the woman obviously needs help of some sort.

This story seems incomplete without a discussion of the implications of his having tenure. Ideally, the guy should be fired, but is that even possible?

Sunshine, you have not begun to grasp what you are dealing with if you think I’m the one who needs to do more reading on the Koch bros.

Pretty sure the Koch bros are cool with things like gay rights and legal pot because they act as a salve in the presence of ruthlessly pro-corporate policies. It makes life seem more tolerable to the educated types they need to run businesses but does nothing to undermine their larger mission.

I’m ignoring Gay Talese and using this story as an excuse to promote one of my absolute favorite pieces of non-fiction writing, Mary McCarthy’s The Stones of Florence, originally published in 1956.

I’m imagining the brainstorming session that produced the band name “Siegebreaker” and can’t stop laughing long enough to read the entire story.

Mental illness can catch you coming or going. It’s very adaptive to circumstances. I’m 99.9% positive it would not be helpful to me for me to spend the time explaining exactly what I mean by that, so instead I will offer up THE MOST AMAZING CREATIVE EXPRESSION OF BAD BRAIN EVER, because it is true, but also funny, and

As someone who has both serious mental health issues and serious financial issues, I feel the need to point out here that sure, being able to afford primo help is presumably better than trying to slog it out on your own, unassisted by professionals but it’s not as easy as hiring a housecleaner - presto! clean house!

As a long-time reader of Gawker Media sites who had no clue this sponsored content sub-blog existed until Melissa Gira Grant linked to it, I’m dying to know where all these commenters came from.
