counter point... Everyone seems to forget the other R. Kelly skit.

Most people are unreasonable - in that there’s legions of people who refuse to see how the sketch condemned R. Kelly, AND legions of people who refuse to see how the sketch could possibly offend anybody other than R. Kelly.

That’s a different sketch but R Kelly was referenced in it (“That piss was digital!”)

I think the sketch also alerted a lot of people who didn’t know about any of the fucked up shit R Kelly was into. I remember explaining to people that there was literally a video on the internet of R Kelly peeing on an underage girl with a Space Jam mural in the background.

I think that was a separate sketch, where Chappelle’s character on the witness stand told the prosecutor that he’d convict R. Kelly if he was on video pissing on the girl, showing his driver’s license, and with his grandma vouching on his identity while he’s pissing on the girl.

No, I remember Chappelle and Brennan’s writing in the sketch exactly the way he explained it. Dave’s joking intro and outro was kinda like, “ None of us can believe Kelly is so flagrant yet hasn’t been caught up!”

I still find that sketch funny as hell.

Part of that sketch also talks about how black men would refuse to turn on black men accused of crimes, and would go to extremes to bring up any doubt, right? Or am I getting the skits mixed up?

I get that people digest content differently based on a million different factors. I get that victims and those close to them (rightly) can’t tolerate jokes about this shit, but... I can’t be the only person who remembers how critical that skit was of Kelly.

No, that sounds right. I was curious. Sorry if that sounded confrontational. I have always been a huge fan of his and was afraid he had said something awful that I hadn’t heard about. I am afraid of losing another hero.

That they were the most disrespected people on Earth. If I’m not quoting him incorrectly from memory.

I can only speculate that they are staying silent because they dont want their own ish coming out. These people will not be collaborating with him anymore  because they have too much “shine” now, but you go digging up somebody else’s graveyard and all the skeletons will be exposed, yours included

Wasn’t Jay hittin’ on Rihanna when she was underage too???

No, they won’t, because he’s married to Beyonce and goal couples or something like that.

The non-black male artist that immediately comes to mind is Celine Dion. Despite their hit song, I very much doubt she hung out with Kelly all that much.

What?

Ok I’d just like to point out that you should NEVER expect that Kanye won’t say something...

What did Malcolm say about black women/girls again????......
