This is a very good point. To an actual sports fan, the on field action itself is often so ridiculous that it's tough not to be pulled out of the story.

I've never seen the movie but I vividly remember my favorite part of it from the preview. Like yours though, it didn't involve John Travolta.

Cheers is pretty much the archetypal sitcom for me & every actor/character is near perfect. I was always surprised it didn't have the second wind in syndication that Seinfeld did in a way, at least in locales that I resided in.

I agree with your classification of the golden era (although I'd include the first season and a half too) & sort of envy you. How cool it must be to see those for the first time.

Eye of the Tiger is a good jogging song, I guess.
