The books are good! Rowling has a very good ear for dialogue, her settings feel lived-in (even if her actual worldbuilding collapses under even the slightest scrutiny), and she cleverly made each book a little mystery rather than a straightforward fantasy narrative. There is a reason the books are/were so beloved.…
Yeah read it in 3 hours but it feels like a year.
Yeah like how they’re easy to read and the Quiddich Cup part is actually really well written.

She got rich and famous by writing a very easy to read pastiche of a bunch of other works, thus she has an outsized sense of her own talent and importance.

I felt old when Aubrey was credibly old enough to play a mother of a preteen in the recent Child’s Play movie.
Yeah, can you imagine something crazy, like having Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro playing old and young versions of the some character? It would never work!
And Aubrey Plaza now is old enough to play the “old” version of a character? I don’t think I’ve felt so old since they got Marisa Tomei to play Aunt May.
It can work, they just need to be related. See Wyatt and Kurt Russell in that Apple TV Monarch show.
TBH, that does sound like a movie she’d sign up for.
Unforgiven made the same comment, that gunfights weren’t between dead shots hitting people with one try. They were chaotic messes.
Who doesn’t love Aubrey Plaza, and I really liked The Fallout. But I don’t know how much of that was due to the brilliance of Jenna Ortega. She’s brilliant, right? We can say that? Either way, I’ll be seeing this.
Pretty sure I saw Dutifully Transactional Costner Sex open for We Were Promised Jetpacks back in ‘05.
