Season 4 is as good as 1. It’s almost some sort of miracle they took a break that long and came back with such excellent content. The only issue with the series is the INSANELY huge cast, other than that Stranger Things is as good as its ever been.

I don’t hate MacFarlane and think he has talent (as well as coming off as a reasonably smart person in most interviews I’ve seen of him), but to say the guy hasn’t slummed for some very cheap, lazy, lowest common denominator jokes throughout his career (too many to count, really) would just be a lie.

Well, I mean, if anyone is an expert on Fox pandering to the lowest common denominator, it’s Seth Mcfarlane.

It’s a weird damn show. It has the look and style of a comedy, it has ridiculous comedy-style situations. But it has almost no jokes and seems to be straining to be taken seriously. Just odd.

I just finished and personally, I think this has been the best season by quite a wide margin. The writing has never been better.

Can a True Detective series ever live up to season one? It’ll forever have that baggage hanging over it.

She was also a very, very, very good stand-up comic.  I’m a more than a little bummed that she won’t be remembered for that aspect of her career because it really was the best aspect.

don’t forget Dakota Johnson refusing to play along with Ellen’s “I’m the nicest person in the world!!” bullshit when she got caught in a lie, making for one of the cringier daytime moments in recent history (but in retrospect, it gave me a TON of respect for Dakota Johnson).

Shoeless Joe was not a “bad” guy per se. He was really dim IRL and was pressured into going along with the scam by his teammates, but didn’t actually tank during the series (8 Men Out tells that story very well). In Field of Dreams he plays it more as a guy who knows he screwed up and has been paying for it straight…

Was her selfie with George W Bush where it really started to fall apart for her? Because I always found her to be a bit patronizing and rude as a talk show host and it seemed only when that picture came out that people started to come down on her. 

Hear hear. When my mom was dealing with end-stage cancer Ellen was the one show that lifted her spirits. Far from my cup of tea my I’m glad shows like this are still around.

Agreed. Fast food prices have become so ridiculous you may as well go to someplace nice for a few dollars more
