Perez deserves better than this show. Somebody get her an actual showcase.

Now if we could just get the av club to decide to try being a good website and bring back Community Grades.

“Given the precinct’s too-narrow, warren of rooms, and lack of egress” I don’t understand these commas.

Bummer. SFU is one of my all-time faves and I was looking forward to this.

Most of these people sound completely insufferable. I realize that’s part of the point, but there’s an art to making a character annoying without letting that upstage whatever’s supposed to be interesting about them. Six Feet Under was on the right side of that line enough that it worked for me (it helped that the

I loved it when Kevin rolled his eyes at Randall rolling up his sleeve. It’s nice in this show when there’s something that’s funny. And it usually involves Randall.

It was also a reminder that they have very little left of Jack — We’ve heard mention of Kate having at least one picture, but it doesn’t look like much of their family items are going to survive this fire anymore than Jack does. Another reason why Kevin’s necklace is so important to him. It’s not like they got to

I have three kids, and the visual of the paint peeling off the burning wall where Jack and Rebecca marked their kids’ height was a gut punch. Every physical manifestation of their family erased in a few minutes. I also don’t know that I’m going to be able to watch Jack’s actual death.

I feel like he knows how badly he fucked up with Sophie. There’s real feeling between them but I’d agree it’s all implied; we never see the good times. The others seemed like deliberate self-sabotage.

That couple isn’t the same one who Rebecca called, her phone call was a misdirect. The elderly couple gave them the crock-pot while Rebecca was pregnant, which was a flashback.

I had thought that “To Build A Home” had become overplayed as a maudlin TV soundtrack choice and that I had lost my ability to cry at scenes scored to it. I was wrong about the second half of that last sequence. Damn it, This Is Us. That final montage hurt.

Who would have thought the girl who released “Candy” would grow up to be such a great actress?

Body image issues can come from plenty of places, but I was an overweight kid and in the 5th grade, I wanted to stop going to school because 3 students had decided to just vocally comment on my weight all day, every day including coming up with mean nicknames for me that changed my surname into the name of a farm

Barring future season best work from the cast, this episode needs to be the sizzle reel they send for their considerations for the future Emmy awards (Globes too? Probably not, though I’m unsure what season of This is Us Sterling won for?)

I’m disappointed we won’t get to see Kirby act out the gradual disintegration of Margaret’s marriage in the coming seasons.

I guess she’s only now realizing she can do plenty of stuff Elizabeth can’t. Honestly, being born second in royalty must be the best. People do look at Harry (if I remember correctly he had his own Margaret-esque party boy streak) but he’s cut way more slack than William ever would, and once you’re the heir’s uncle or

To clarify, I don’t really have any problem with the reviews. I think the critiques were fair, but the good outweighed the bad for me. The particular randomish assignment of writer-to-show sure ruined the reviewer’s day and the show’s scores, though!

Yeah, odd show, which I think I liked.

Like someone else said, the person assigned to review the show seemed like the only person on the staff who didn’t enjoy it.

I love that the guy assigned to review it seems to be the only one on the staff that didn’t like it.
