Great, sure. Why not. But were still left with a major and unsolvable land/surface area problem. Rooftops aren’t enough. We’re also left with the cloud problem and coping with demand. Are we OK with loosing tens of millions of desert to solar panels?

Perspective: Powering 1000 homes requires 32 acres of solar panels.

Yet their contribution to our overall energy diet is decreasing.

Uh, no. The highest recycle rates are seen with steel and aluminum, yet we still need to mine for more to support growing demand. So whatever the case, people calling for electric cars must also accept the reality that a hell of a lot more mining is going to be needed to support their dream.

And you don’t have any idea of the land cost, what we’d have to sacrifice, and buy.

Clever but wrong.

At what land cost? To achieve this we’ll surely need to sacrifice farms and wilderness. Are you OK with this? Because you shouldn’t be...

Hope you’re OK with a lot more mining. Because last time I checked, Steel and Aluminum are well recycled, yet we still need more.

Psst: Drew...the United State is not a democracy. It’s Representative Republic.

535 Ft pounds.

The 83 version of the Mk1

Such a silly and uninformed comment. Airplanes are flown in open space, by highly trained professionals, the environment is regulated, managed and controlled. Sudden and unexpected events are rare. Public roads are the exact opposite.

I am embarrassed for her for saying that.

Cars like this...the idea is to sell a few...but mainly its for positioning and to get people into showrooms and hope they walk our with a GTI, Sportwagen or Touareg

All of these options suck. I love my TDI Sportwagen and hate this entire issue.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like where innovations are taking us these days? Used to be excited about the future.

Quick question:

Austin is Texas, too.
