Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but I really just enjoy reading the books for the universe and the personalities within it. It could be that I'm getting older, but I mostly enjoy seeing where he'll go with the world he's made. I'm not particularly hung up on whether or not the story resolves exactly how I'd like

Yeah, I mean I can't really get into his head here, but he's produced a fantasy series that's enriched the lives of thousands upon thousands of people and is loved the world over, and is also pretty brilliant and inventive considering it's the creation of one isolated human being. Maybe I need to be more cynical, but

I've somehow read both of those. Thank you for helping me feel smart on a Monday. No, really, thank you.

I hope this documentary plays for a long time in theaters…

Time is a flat daisy chain.

They also collaborated on "Past the Mission" from Under the Pink (Reznor did background vocals), which always struck me as a standout track.

Speaking of Maynard and Tori Amos, they did a song together at a RAINN charity concert once. It gives me chills every time, and allegedly they're both survivors of sexual abuse in some form (Tori Amos has talked about it pretty openly, Maynard is more opaque). I can only imagine what it was like for them, at that

That's… that's strangely admirable. He did it in kind of a smug, condescending way (which is probably inevitable considering it's Tosh). But still.

Jeselnik is such an asset to young-white-guy standup nowadays. The more successful he gets, the greater the chances we'll avoid another iteration of Dane Cook or Daniel Tosh.

I've heard the English find the deep southern accent by far the least grating of all American accents (here's looking at you, Philadelphia). Which is ironic, considering an Englishman is most likely to find a southerner offensive above any other kind of American.

It's apparently been common knowledge in entertainment circles for years that Spacey is both gay as well as kind of a predatory asshole. The latter was disappointing to hear because he actually seemed kind of cool.

I might be *really* aging myself here, but "bender" is an older slang (generally English) term for a fellow who prefers the company of other fellows.

As a regular Savage Love reader and asker of potentially dumb/offensive questions, this has always puzzled me. Is your avatar Bender because you yourself are… a bender?

The Bureaucrats?
