Why would “this tragedy” refer to something that has yet to be brought up? That’s not how context works. Next time I’ll explain your mistake in a way you can understand.

It’s debatable whether or not they should’ve used it, but FWIW, the hashtag spawned organically on Twitter among WSU fans & community members after the news broke. I honestly don’t think this is the school trying to do anything other than offer support.
#RIP3 was not used first by the school to represent this tragedy. It is common in the death of an athlete for twitter to hashtag the death as #RIP(Player’s number). Unfortunately #RIP3 was around before Hilinski’s death to commemorate a different player last year.
Thanks for keeping us focused on the important things!
Whatever he was going through, this wasn’t the answer. His family, friends, coaches, teammates, fans, they are all the poorer for his loss. I wish he had gotten the help he clearly needed.
Of course, to read this comment, we had to scroll past an impressively inane debate about the use of the phrase “full stop.”
The kid is a PAC 12 QB, brothers are also QB’s, comes from a close, well off family. Lived a great life. But, you never know what demons someone has. My buddy hung himself 5 years ago. Good looking, aspiring actor, lots of friends, we never saw it coming. It’s beyond sad when this happens. Just wish he would have felt…
This is really one of those things that defies your attempts to come up with a quick take. You just wish he’d seen another way out of what he was dealing with and feel terrible for the people he left behind.
Watched every practice this team had over the spring. One of the best players to watch, and definitely the most fun to talk to, was Tyler. This sucks. This is really fucking terrible.
If you’re so much braver please sign up. Also don’t forget to hold onto your wallet extra tight next time you pass a black person because I know that’s the type of person you are. So woke.
Do I think that this one airstrike is the end of all of Syria’s problems? No. I’m not even necessarily saying it was the right thing to do. I’m saying I understand the impulse to be in the doing something business when you’re looking at this tragedy for years in the doing nothing camp.
No, what’s depressing is that it took Donald Fucking Trump to make good on Barack Obama’s promise that chemical weapons were a ‘red line’ that , when crossed, would result in direct repercussion- not a couple hundred SOC ghouls keeping Kurds and Turks apart. The ONLY response to the use of WMD- by anyone- is an…
Was it our fight in WWII when Nazis were slaughtering Jews, Blacks, Gays, Roma, and the Handicap by the millions? How many more people will Assad and ISIS slaughter before we realize that neither side will back down without international action?
huh? I hate Trump and all, but holy fuck this is the right decision. I’m not understand ultra Liberals right now. Like Trump, you keep sending mixed signals. “We need to stand up for people in Syria!!!!”... “No wait. We need to focus on our problems first!”
A lot of the left (depending on how you define that term) has been itching for intervention on himanitarian grounds for years. It’s not a surprising stance.
While I’m certainly not itching for World War 3, I’m a little sympathetic to some people who see this as a preferable alternative to the previous Syria policy of “Maybe Assad will get bored of killing his own people?” even if it risks larger problems.
Gerrymandering is a bipartisan issue.
Washington DC has no economy.
Let’s see how well California does after it secedes from where they get all their water.
No. This isn’t a pop band. Seccession is idiotic.
