I live in Salt Lake and I tried riding my bike to work for a week this past summer. I came to the conclusion that fearing for my life the entire time just wasn’t worth the health benefits (and it’s not like I’m old or a recluse). Making it “feel” safe should be one of the main goals I would think.

My town is one of the cities following this idea. We spent a few million to put them in, and it’s even more confusing for drivers now and all the while the bicyclists don’t follow ANY rules and more over, they don’t pay any road taxes while riding this toy around town. SO the drivers pay the tab for the hippies to

If you’re talking about Clinton I think it is generally regarded that his “budget” surplus was a scam.

What people never mention though is that much of what Bush put out was TARP and was mostly paid back.

Pay attention. I said the Democrats were the “grandfathers” of pork barrel politics. They are. You only want to look at recent years and you fail to note that Democrats have controlled both houses of Congress 21 out of 37 times since WWII. So you seem to be the only one full of shit here. The whole Democratic platform

Yeah, it sucks, but using public funds to only keep an individual from purchasing land seems almost illegal.

You’re either really asking, or trying to have an argument. If the former: Can’t be sure if this is an exact version, but this gives a good primer of what I was talking about. It’s not everything, but it gives you an idea. http://www.earlymoderntexts.com/assets/pdfs/lo…

I’m bored. You’re right. I should stop. I get roped in sometimes.

So, let’s just assume you’re right for the purposes of this comment. I neglected to mention I was talking about Locke. We’ll ignore that it took me one comment to get there for now.

You could have been wrong without writing 5 paragraphs. It’s funny that you criticized me for not responding to every point (when really you made 1 rambling post that might have some distinguishable thoughts in there), and then ignore mine.

Jesus. Read the OP. I’m not talking what is deemed necessary by WHO. I’m talking about natural rights. That has a very specific meaning that has nothing to do with what you posted.

You’re not very smart, son.

Nothing is a basic human right that requires others to do things for you. That includes healthcare and making drugs. What if a drug company decides not to pursue development and testing of a drug that may help you because they want to focus on more potentially profitable drugs? have they violated your rights? Clearly

*facepalm*

Science usually goes with whoever is paying the bill.

I take solace in the thought that the impending rebound ice age we’ll encounter in 150 years or so will be short lived because of all the CO2 we’ll be pumping back into the atmosphere to keep our houses warm.

In 100 more years, with more data, we’ll see it was all just a normal cyclic rhythm. You’re going to be disappointed aren’t you? You’l find something else to get people riled up about. That’s if we make it through the nuclear winter Mr Obama’s friends Iran creates.

I really need to stop coming to Gizomdo on the day after GOP debates. All the writers at Kinja seem to be leftwinged extremists, looking for any excuse to shut down anyone not on the Democratic ballot. Where’s your medical degree? Lemme guess, you got all this information after ten minutes of googling?

“Of course, the Marxian definition of value is ridiculous. All the work one cares to add will not turn a mud pie into an apple tart; it remains a mud pie, value zero. By corollary, unskillful work can easily subtract value; an untalented cook can turn wholesome dough and fresh green apples, valuable already, into an
