Coming across this post for the first time, almost exactly a year after it was published. This is appalling and disgusting and should make everyone very scared. I’m hoping the lack of comments is just the sound of being shocked into silence.

At 4.8% unemployment we don’t need more jobs in favor of something that could quite possibly COST jobs (particularly in tourism-dependent areas along the US Coastlines); we need fucking livable wages, dammit.

Parrots are basically tiny dinosaurs who can do math; I do not fuck with parrots.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but that’s incredibly high compared to past stats and the fact that it’s an odd-numbered year election.

I agree - it’s a tax on students as well, who often vote absentee. CA has people who are, I guess you could call them, “voluntary” absentee voters pay their own postage but the people in precincts without a polling place get a postage paid envelope since it’s not their fault they don’t get a polling place as an

Good to know! And yeah, I was surprised too.

Wow - so many unnecessary hurtles for absentee NYers. When talking about voter laws and voter ID laws, we definitely should be trying to address the fact that so many more eligible people do not/are prevented from voting than there are trying to game the system. If every eligible adult voted in each election, the

He’s the one responsible for making American politics seem elite and inaccessible to the average person, right? With his snobby book?

Hi! I work in the Office of Elections in CA. It depends on your state’s laws. California will accept absentee ballots up to three days after Election Day as long as the envelope is post-marked on or before Election Day. There’s also a grace period we allow for ballots being sent from out of county by other Election

Well WHY ELSE am I full of despair on a daily basis??

Yes! Let’s bring hatpins back!

“We sent so many of ours away of the years that we can’t really turn you away now.”

There is a 15th or 16th Century monk who referred to this as “the Irish habit of going away.” I actually did my international studies final project on Irish migration during times of austerity lol.

Ugh. This casts a whole new light on his quote from Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: “I’m always amazed at what women will do because they’re afraid of being rude.”

(I’m sure it was written for him and not improvised on the spot, but it makes my skin crawl now)

I have no idea. My father has never been caught and therefore has never had to have one of these contraptions installed. But he would be the type of drunk driver I would imagine the test while driving provision is for, since he literally drinks while driving.

My dad would fill a coffee thermos with whiskey, get in the car sober, and drink out of the thermos as he drove, leaving the car wasted at the end of his trip to wherever (probably Hell). He is not a good person and exactly who I think this provision is for.

Isn’t the seat he’s after the one Sessions left for his current position?

I am Irish so I have tiny teeth and everyone else’s teeth look huge by comparison but holy molars she is toothy. I couldn’t look at anything else in that video.

Yeah, I know, but it seems like in those cases they fall back on the Old Testament to justify their bigotry. How do violent extremist Buddhists justify it?

At the risk of outing myself as completely ignorant - I thought Buddhism prohibited killing anything? I also thought that it required a removal from identity or the sense of self? Like the idea that there’s an “us” and “them.”

Ygritte was also very upfront about telling him Wildling women who don’t want to be pregnant know what to do if they find themselves pregnant.
